I doubt it - unless KG has privately confided to Danny that he's retiring, we don't have the contracts (basically Pierce) to make a splashy move.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Nah. Nothing big. Same old, same old.
This.  It's just not the right time for Ainge to make a big move.  He is waiting on KG, then Ray.  When the time comes he may make a big move, but more likely we get back essentially the same team and add an experienced vet in the front court (hoping for Camby myself).

Using History this is a repeat of the Jefferson, West, Allen draft, except we don't have the high pick to get a Jefferson. I assume DA uses it to stockpile BPA unless something very good comes along. He's poorly positioned to pull of a block buster reload, so just retool, retain flexibility and stockpile until he can.

Ainge will either draft a big and a swingman, or will trade both for a future lotto if someone drops and a team like the Wizards want him.

I can't imagine anything big happening with KG's, and as a result Rays and even Pierce's future still up in the air.

In all likelyhood he drafts to high risk guys with lots of upside tomorrow.  A SF and either a center or stretch 4 or a 3/4 hybrid.

It is not big but I think we will flip Charlotte's second rounder we just got from the dirty, cheating, redneck fanbase having Thunder for a second round pick this year.

I don't think anything big is going to happen but how about THIS scenario.
KG is set to retire and lets Ainge know.  Ainge moves PP to the Lakers for Gasol (filler if needed) and signs and trades bass with a draft pick for Josh Smith.  We resign Green and are ready for regular season.  Insert 2nd draft pick, resign, green, mp and sign vet backup pg.

I expect to see alot of movement and trades during the draft but I dont see anything HUGE for the celtics happening... I mean we can really only trade our picks, rondo, pierce, bradley, jjj, and moore on draft night right? So i dont see us doing something BIG. i could see a pick swap, or jjj or moore moving out for a better veteran, but nothing huge.

I expect us to just use our picks.

Houston I expect to be the big player.

I hope the Lakers do nothing and continue to decline.

God only knows... i think right now, danny doesnt even know whats gonna happen. he thinks on his feet and improvises a lot - simply because he does so much research and kicks so many tires, he has a million plans ready to go should the 1st thru 26 fail.

but did u notice how danny said on weei recently that he had everything sorted A through J?  whats the letter after J? K. as in KG. it all hinges on KG - subtle message by danny or not. DA may blow it all up, or not, but i dont think he drafts two guys at #21 and #22 unless it's his last option.

but KG kinda reminds me of jay-z when he did the black album saying it would be his last... but then of course jay-z came back because he just loves the game so much and just COULDN'T NOT RAP... i think KG will be the same. he's just too crazily competitive.

Good analogy, and yes I agree that KGs too competitive to not play a few more seasons....

thinking we end up as a 3rd team trade partner & net a front court starter with 21 and 22

would rather see what Jeff Green has before drafting one of the 'hybrids' that are projected available...

I'm thinking , IF we aren't involved in any ROCKET deals ,  and KG is still undecided , Danny will just take his three picks  and we'll go from there.

He drafts the best he can , then see what KG does, and then start the plan to rebuild a KG led team or a  New younger squad , built around PP and Rondo and AB to start with . , headed towards a complete retooling when PP gives it up.

I think KG is waiting to see WHO the Celtics keep , draft and if RAY ALLEN stays or goes.

If KG doesn't let Doc and DA in on the secret by tommorrow , then we maynot know for a another month or more.

We might also be waiting to see if DA wheels and deals for a FA center. ???

All of the above is why I think the C's will quietly take the best player /needs and sit back and wait for KG.

I think Josh smith becomes a laker tomorrow and gasol a hawk.

I'm going out on a liimb here but I think Celtics move up with the picks they have to grab Austin Rivers. Would be a pretty cool moment. So there is my big thing for the draft.

I hope you're wrong but believe you are right. Makes too much sense for both teams for it not to .

problem for us is that it makes BOTH teams better
