Lets go simpler.  Ray for Chalmers.

He would be a good fit with Rondo and Bradley.

I kinda don't understand a lot of these haters posting here.

There can be only 2 options:

a) You're ok that Danny traded him (not tried as with PP or RR, but TRADED, and in his head he was figuring out where in the hell can he find a good apartment in the middle of memphis), cause this is only buisness afterall. Following same logic, this is only buisness now and he will maybe sign with the heat.

b) you feel Danny was wrong in trying to trade him cause Celtics are a family and more than just buisness and you want him to stay out of loyality we all deserve.

Feeling he is betraying us and celtics if he goes to miami but being OK with him being traded cause "he is a professional and has to act like one" is having double standards and is similar to you cheating your GF  cause you are male and why the hell not, while expecting her to be faithfull at the same time because cheating is wrong on so many levels.

I will say in people's defense it can be a little more complicated than that.  I'm firmly in the "A" camp you outline, yet emotionally I'd be bothered by him just going to Miami after we've been trying to beat them the last few years.

I'd understand it though.

I doubt that Miami will do this the way Chalmers I playing.

Good luck to Ray if he wants to go to Miami. If we're doing a sign and trade, I'm fine with a pick.

If Ray signs with the Heat i will boo him harder than i've ever booed any player. Don't really care what anyone thinks about that it would just be how i would feel.

It's absolutely not fair for him to do that to Pierce, Garnett, or Doc. KG and PP were shopped around too but you don't see PP demanding a trade or Garnett wanting to sign with another team. Ray would basically be saying "Thanks for the 5 years but i think i'll go get another ring the easy way at your expense."

If he signed with the Clippers or the Thunder or some team like that for more money i would understand but the Heat are public enemy #1.

I really hope this is just a scheme by Rays agent to put the pressure on Boston to give him more years.

It is always more complicated of course:) But in this simplified vesrion I just want to point how unreal people are calling him a no class and question his loyality after all he has done here, while at the same time expecting him to be a proffesional about Dannys quick finger.

I desperately want him to stay, but if he goes I wont care where he will go(miami incl), it wont be the celtics and period.

I think that most important thing for him to resign would not be starting job or money, but a simple no-trade cluse from Danny, I don't see it happening though.

Also, does anyone feel Ray might do it in part to spite Rondo? Obviously that wouldnt be the entire reasoning behind it but it might be part of it. From what i've heard their relationship really soured over the years.

'to spite Rondo'? Ray Allen won't make a career choice to spite anyone, he's not a petty man.

I certainly would not but i could see it happening. Norris Cole is going to be a solid back up point guard which makes Chalmers expendable.

I'll be the first to say I am not Chalmers' biggest fan. Thinks he's far better than he actually is. Walks around with the swagger of a perennial all-star.

I've always had a sneaking suspicion that most of Alex Kennedy's journalism consists of rephrasing other people's scoops.  Almost no credibility with me.

Makes very little sense for Ray to have honed in on Miami at this stage of the offseason.

For a guy supposedly motivated by pride, why would a bench role with less money and minutes on a rival team be such a shoo-in?
