I think Ray was bothered by coming off the bench here, not only because it disrupted his routine(we all know how OCD he is) but also because I think he felt he was better than AB. Didn't like having his spot taken and Rondo connecting better with the kid than him.

In Miami, he comes in with clear understanding. Wade is the obvious starter, he can set up his routines so he's prepared to come off the bench. I wish he would go to the Clippers so we wouldn't have to see him so often but AB is the incumbent here and he needs to play so I have no problem with Ray. Appreciate all he's done here.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

He wont get many shots there in Miami. But if he wants to win another championship badly, then thats the place to go.

Maybe it is just me, but going by Doc's record, I do not believe that Ray was benched so that Avery could get starter's minutes.  I think it was just fortuitous that, given the chance, AB proved so capable in the starting lineup.  I think originally it was planned to give Ray's ankles more rest in hopes that he would be ready to resume starting role as the playoffs went on.

As far as coming off the bench this year, believing Ray's statement that if it helped the team, he would come off the bench, I give him the benefit of the doubt.

However, after what happened regarding the (non) resigning of Delonte last year, and the trade of Perk, I believe Ray has to protect himself, too, and have a backup plan ready.  I am just afraid if Ray goes elsewhere and the "big three" is disbanded, KG actually may retire.

The last time Ray signed, it was on a handshake deal.  This time Danny has not earned that trust...

I would definitely boo this guy, (but it would be more of a boo of respect than of hate if that makes any sense):

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

The thing is that ray would likely have a bigger role here coming off the bench.

If it bothered him so much why is he ok with taking less shots(he's essentially replacing miller) to COME OFF THE BENCH

I just think its a slap to doc, pierce and kg. We could use him. Doc said the cs want him back

Kinda like how people here used to respectfully boo D-wade.

God, I hate the cHeat!!!!!!!!!

First the unsavory, duplicitous collusion (which no doubt involved the cHeat organization) that brought them together in the first place along with the Wade rip of Rondo's elbow and his cheap shots in general coupled with the biases for them by the legue/refs/ESPN.

And now, stealing away of one of our players by taking advantage of Ray's ego (he's an athlete being paid millions to play a game. He was the subject of trade talks on numerous occasions, and felt unlove. BOOHOO. Get over it Ray, that;s part of the business!)and his anger at the Cs.

I saw this coming when Allen, Wade and LeBroid had that lovefest on the floor at the end of game 7 of the ECF.

This is kinda like you p---ing off your girl friend , and to get back at you she goes and sleeps with your sworn enemy who was also her sworn enemy.

Lots of class, Ray, if you do this.

P.S. He will swallow coming off the bench, because Wade is an established star and AB?....who the hell is he?

Hey Ray, he's the guy, if you become a cHeat, who will be in your jersey smothering you and blocking your shots.

No, no, no.   It would kill me to see Ray in a Miami uniform, but he has always been a class guy  and I will always be a fan...would Never boo him.  He has earned my respect and my gratitude.  I will always cheer for the Celtics as a team, collectively, but love Ray for his forever contribution to the Celtics.  I still hope and believe Ray will be back with the Celts.

For him to sign with Miami, of all teams, would leave a sour taste in my mouth. Not really for what he means, but for what he meant to our team. That said, Ainge is not paid to be emotional. So if a soon to be 37 year old reserve, coming off ankle surgery, wants to sign with a rival for more years than you're willing to give, then so be it. Just wish he were going elsewhere, or at the very least a S & T to get an asset in return.

I think its a mix of being benched on this team in particular where he was the starter for years and almost being traded with one foot out the door that leads him to wanting to leave. Then he probably figures if hes gonna leave he'll go to the place that has the best chance of him winning another championship. If he goes to Miami, he never started there, so his Heat role is 6th man or w\e he would be on the bench. Here, he was the starter and it got taken by Bradley... something that probably bothers him regardless of what he says to the press

The general consensus around the NBA is that Ray Allen will sign with Miami. “Barring a change, he’ll join the Heat,” said a league source.

I know everyone keeps saying he's going to Miami, but if the c's offer the same 3 mil a year contract(even if it's for one less year) Ray will come back to Boston IMO.

Does he really need a ring that bad that he would go to the c's biggest rival and jump on the bandwagon ?  We can beat Miami if we just add a few pieces (rebounding, shot blocking/controlling the paint). I will be really irked if Ray leaves for the same money, I just can't see it happening.

If Miami can only offer $3M I don't see why you don't offer Ray twice that for next season.  He is still taking a 40% paycut from his last contract.

Also, I thought Ray wanted to start.  He is not going to start in Miami.
