The Sixers, Timberwolves and Celtics have inquired about the availability of Jamal Crawford, according to a league source.

Crawford has two years, $10-million remaining on his deal with the Blazers, with an opt out option at the end of year one.

The Clippers and Suns have also reached out to the Blazers about a potential deal involving Crawford.

Thoughts?

Not a fan of Crawford, but he'd be a sizable upgrade on Dooling.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I'm a fan. JC can still fill up the cup. But Ray > Crawford any day of the week.

If he opts in then he is a one year five mill guy. You have him off the bench with Ray and Green? Maybe Bass if we can upgrade the PF position or Center position...

Lots of fire power off the bench.

In spite of the comedic responses, I would at least have to ask, at what price?  I supposed this would mean goodbye to Ray (which may happen regardless) but else will it cost?  One of our firsts perhaps?

I suppose I at least think about it, but probably pass.

One of our first I am thinking.

The Blazers shopped Jamal Crawford hard at the deadline. The asking price was a first but nobody was willing to pay it. I think they'd settle for a high second round pick (so long as they don't have to take back salary, otherwise a first would be necessary).

Well we just got a likely high second round pick if we wanted to use one like that.

Well it's not as if the report reads 'Celtics have their hearts set on Jamal Crawford and will pay anything for him.' There's interest. He was a dynamic off the bench scorer in the past, and had one poor year with the Blazers. Age as well as attitude is certainly a concern, but I see no problem with them kicking the tires on Crawford. If other options don't work out, and the money/years make sense, I see no problem with acquiring him.

Can't a GM upgrade the roster ? Don't us fans want upgrades ? I'm sorry, but Crawford is an upgrade over what we had on this Conf finals team this past year.  It isn't even close.

Crawford > Dooling
