Moultrie please...that is who I want to move up to get. Unfortunately I think delusional will move up for White. When DA falls in love he falls hard (see Jeff Green).

or see Rondo, Rajon.

Sully didn't get destroyed by Josh Harrelson. Go rewatch the game. He would instantly upgrade the post offense and rebounding positions. Biggest obstacle would be guarding 4s.

Sully is so good he is not going to the green room.

WHAT?!? He got a ball thrown off him by a dude trying to get a turnover? He must really suck. Lebron James, Paul Pierce, Shaq, and most players who have ever been in the NBA must really suck too.

You don't move up for Royce White...he'll be around at 21 if you really want him

I hope another team picks him early, so we don't have to hear his name mentioned ever again.

I second that statement. Terrance Jones, Sullinger, Perry Jones III, and Moultrie I'd all move up for at 16.

Royce White was a sub-50% free throw shooter, wasn't he? And a guy that is supposed to be "the sf/pf version of Rondo," handling the ball...that kind of matters - a lot!
you would move up for perry jones III? Really glad you aernt in charge of our team.

Perry Jones has one of the highest ceilings in the draft. He would fit in perfect with Rondo. If there is a situation where he'll reach his full potential, it's in Boston IMO.

I wouldn't want to trade up at all, but if we do I'd rather it be for Jones than Royce White.

Latest nbadraft.net mock has us getting Perry and Terrence Jones.

If that's the case, don't move an inch Danny!
I saw that as well and found it very hard to believe either of those 2 slide to us however if that did happen, I'm agreement -->snag them immediately

Now they have us getting Kendall Marshall and Jared Sullinger. Do they do it based on a formula or something? It seems that way to me. But it's not unbelievable. The draft stocks of everybody beyond the top 5 are quite volatile.

If we get Marshall and keep him...well, he can catch and shoot and isn't that small at 6'4.

Starting him at SG would mean we have something like the Clippers's backcourt (Chris Paul, Billups, Mo Williams off the bench) and the offense could get interesting.

Rondo can cut, post up and, of course, make touch passes when Marshall's on the floor.

I'm not saying it's a good idea (because I'm not sure) but I'd definitely watch it.

And LOOK! Draftexpress has us getting Quincy Miller and Moultrie!

Man. Any combination of Sullinger, Marshall, Terrance Jones, Perry Jones, Moultrie or Quincy Miller would make me very happy.

i fully believe Boston wins the 2011 title if Danny Delusion doesn't rip the team apart with the Perk trade - we would have maintained home court and would not have seen miami/chicago until ECF.

you'll never convince me Perk would have left as a FA - he stated he couldn't see himself anywhere but Boston.

as for acquiring an athletic wing to compete with our rivals - that's foolish - the Celts were the ones with the advantage - a tough, physical front line with an attitude who controlled the blocks - it was Miami/Chicago who needed to adjust to us - DA gave away our advantage for Jeff Green, who didn't have much appetite for battle.

acquire Jeff Green to replace Pierce 2 - 3 years down the road ? what ? this team was all about winning titles right now - we have not been in rebuilding mode of late.

kinda funny how Perk's teams keep showing up in the finals.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

firstly, i completely disagree with the idea that its a foregone conclusion we would have won had we have had perk. but i'll go into that later.

secondly, the best general manager in the league is the guy who runs the spurs. i would put presti of OKC as second, and then it's either the guy who runs the nuggets, or danny (and danny pretty much fooled presti in the perk trade - but alas - later).

FIRSTLY:

dannys not perfect. he hasnt got the greatest eye for potential in the league, but he's waaayy up there... you cant expect someone to be 100%... even the spurs traded away luis scola for basically nothing:

"On July 12, 2007, the Spurs traded the rights to Scola, along with center-forward Jackie Butler, to the Houston Rockets, in return for Vassilis Spanoulis, a future second-round draft pick, and cash considerations."

you also gotta look at the fact that he was the one who drafted shawn marion for the phoenix suns in 1999.

he tried his hardest to trade up and grab kobe bryant in the 96 draft... but instead dropped the ball and only drafted steve nash at number 15  :'(

then in 1997, when he didnt have a 1st round pick, he picked up stephen jackson at number 43 in the second round.

98' they didnt have a pick.

in 2002 he went on record as saying amare stoudamire would probably end up as the best player from that draft (which outside of yao ming he is). decoded this means, "he's the guy i would have drafted."

SECONDLY:

perk now has one of the worst contracts in the league at 10 million a year. looking at wins per 48, stiemsma is producing more than perk:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/perkike01.html

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/stiemgr01.html

and looking at per on espn:
- stiemsma is at 13.62
- perk is at 8.69

keep in mind perk turned down 4 years at 30 mill danny tried to give him...  would you pay 10 million for stiemsma?? if the answer is yes, i just dont know what to tell ya...  :-\

AND...
the reason perk was in the finals is not coz perk is a difference maker, but instead there are three guys on his team. one all-star named westbrook, one 6th man of the year named harden, and one absolute beast of a player named durant...

I would trade the picks in a heartbeat if a player was sliding into the 16th pick.  If Jeremy Lamb or Terrance Ross slipped it would be a steal.  Two perfect guys to score on the 2nd unit.  That was the biggest problem with the 2nd unit.  If Jeff Green is signed this will help as well.  Other then that rebounding is the other big need for the C's.  A scorer off the bench and rebounding for both the starting unit and the bench.  Hopefully JJJ can provide that off the bench so the C's need a starter along side KG that can board.  I don't see Bass being that guy and as much as I really liked him I just do not think he's the perfect fit.  His jump shooting was great but he was not a great rebounder because he is undersized.

I thought this was a thread about Boston and Houston, and last I checked, Kendrick Perkins does not play for either team.

So, back on track to Boston and Houston:

Yes, I completely buy the idea that the two are potential trade partners. But I view this as a fluff story by nbadraft.net. First off, any two teams are potential trade partners. Second, most GMs probably work the phones and set up potential trades ahead of time, I'm sure Boston and Houston are no different. Third, Boston and Houston, holders of multiple picks, are among the teams with higher probabilities of trading. Fourth, the GM of Houston used to work with Danny Ainge, so there is a personal connection there.  I could put all that stuff together and come up with a similar story....
