His max vertical is 31" and he only benched 9 times.

That is not athletic by any stretch.

Almost certain he will be one of the two picks. Also certain he will not see much of the floor because he will struggle grasping the celtics offense and defense. He is nothing more than a seven foot long term project. My guess is he falls behind steisma and any other big they bring in and we hear zero about him the entire season

I don't see how he could be much worse than steimsma..he could be a cheaper alternative if some team offered steimsma to a large offer sheet.

Also, I know Greg was a rookie but people seem to forget, he's an old rookie. He will be 27 years old at the start of next season.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

TP. A workable project. He can be an elite shot blocker in the NBA.

That is not athletic by any stretch.

That whole bench press thing is pretty nonsensical. That movement just isn't practical for NBA purposes. A much more applicable exercise, particularly for post players and the strength they have to establish position, is probably the squat. That said, core strength is the most important thing there is. Some people that may bench a lot, aren't really that strong and vice versa.

Melo is athletic because he is mobile and has good feet. As for the vert, the guy has a 9'2" standing reach, so 31 inches has him close to 12 feet. More than enough to catch lobs, secure rebounds, finish around the basket, and block/alter shots.

Yeah, Melo's lateral agility is better than many guys smaller than him.

Melo has BUST written all over him. Can not score, no knowledge of playing man to man, bad rebounder, I could go on and on. If we draft him I will be really chapped.

Nope he is a diamond in the ruff.,   Melo has 10x the promise of all but a couple bigs we can't get , or can't get Howard or Hibbert or Gasol , on and on...here is GREAT CHANCE to develope a player from the beginning and make him into the player we need. Just like Hibbert , he needs alot fo work , and he seems willing and coachable.

fab melo will spend this season in the D League. He will be unable to grasp what the Cs do on offense and defense

As a comparison to Fab Melo, PJ3 has 38.5" vertical and benched 11 times... smh
