"But we've never seen anyone like LeBron in our league who was this big and strong and could pass like this. He can control a game and take over a game just with his passing ability. And then he can take it right to you when he wants to... I'm glad I'm out of the league."

- Larry Bird

Good enough for me.  Bron averaged 28 points, 10.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.6 steals, 47% shooting during a total domination of what appeared to be a vastly more talented Thunder team**.  Averaged 30, 10 and 6 for the entire playoffs.  Stepped it up every single time his team needed it (Falling down 2-1 against the Pacers... falling down 3-2 against the Celtics).  Just an incredible display.  In 15 years when some of the petty hate dissipates, folks might look back on this run a little more positively.  Fact is, I look back at Kobe Bryant's 5 titles and I instantly say "3 of those were all Shaq... at least one of them was mainly Pau" ... but this one was all about LeBron.  Every single game was LeBron.  Consistently incredible.  There's not a lot his critics can say at this point.  He brought it.  He walked the walk.  Still, he needed help... and Bosh, Wade, etc made for much better sidekicks than Larry Hughes and Carlos Boozer (who he took to the Finals the first time around).  Hat's off to LeBron and a round of applause to Pat Riley and the entire Miami Heat organization.  Yes You Did.  Enjoy your parade.

**(side note:  The Thunder swept the defending champs, easily took care of the Los Angeles Lakers and their twin towers... and ripped open a powerful Spurs team in the midst of a 20 win streak... they are a very VERY good team.  Them getting owned by the Heat had less to do with them struggling and more to do with LeBron James dominating.)

Maybe our hate is petty, but we are entitled to it.  Good luck with your campaign to turn us all into the King's subjects.  It ain't happening.  We are Celtics fans!!!

I'd congratulate the following before I would the heat:

The maker of the  Hindenburg
The Capt of the Titanic
The creator of New Coke
The architect of the leaning tower of Pisa
Capt. Custer on a job well done at Little Big Horn
Decca Records eye for talent
Ford on creating the Edsel
Russell Westbrook on his understanding of how the shotclock works
Bob Gibson's clock management skills
LBJ on a great job in Vietnam
Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber for not getting on that bus
Japan's decision not to surrender
Stu Inman's decision to pass on MJ
Neville Chamberlain's wonderful foreign policy

I can respect that, with self awareness.

Congrats to Miami.

This reminds me of the time I got really excited when the 92 US Dream Team beat Angola in the opening round. They totally took care of business.

No I'll look back and see what Larry Bird shoulda said which is no one has ever seen some one as strong as him play the game like he's playing pro football the way he lowers his head and shoulders, knocks people to the ground, take 5 or six extra steps, then when he gets in trouble either passes it or gets a foul for himself from the blind referees. ::)

You and Larry need to wake up and see this guy for who he is...a great baller, p--- poor BASKETBALL player.  While the rest of the league plays basketbal the heat and Lebron are allowed to play street ball by his own rules.  It sets up rather nicely to win a championship doesn't it.  Credit to the heat team and Lebron for making shots the way they did, but aloso credit a lousy OKC team that thought they could play by Lebrons rules on lebrons court...not gonna happen.  When the heat actually play basketball and win a chmapionship then they'll be a basketball champion.  Congrats on winning the Rucker park invitational Miami :P

Wasn't it odd watching James Harden play so poorly in the championship series after dominating in the Western Conference play-offs?
