The Hawks are said to be one team placing calls to improve their draft position. They currently own the No. 23 pick. One GM said the Hawks floated the names of both Josh Smith and Marvin Williams as potential trade chips.

would love if the c's could somehow end up landing smith . I would be willing to give up Bradley and a pick most likely , don't think it would get you smith though unfortunately

Can we include Jeff Green or Bandon Bass (S+t)along with Bradley and a pick or 2 ? or can you only s+t players individually ?

Smith has been linked to us a bunch of times in the past, so hopefully the celts have interest and where we have seen smoke there is actually a fire.

Even if we suck, watchin Rondo and Smith together would be awesome.

Would you do it for both their picks and maybe Marvin Williams's bad contract?

You can S&T players as part of a package.  See Bass for Davis/Wafer, for example.  However, if the report is to be believed, the Hawks are looking to move up in the draft.  I think they have their sights set on a jump more significant than that from 23 to 22 or 21.

With the leverage of 2, 3 picks they can probably get higher

They are looking for a high draft pick, not players.

Right we would probably have to find a way to package our two picks to move up and then flip it to ATL.

Portland might be a good partner in this.

Wait what is the package you are proposing?

If it's a high pick they want...would 3 firsts do it? Theirs and ours.

Bass and Ray are both clear upgrades over Marvin Williams. Although I imagine Bass would do it (Ray's stock is severely undervalued by celticsblog imo. The way he played in the final stretch of the playoffs shows that he's still good to me).

Anyway...

S&T Green, Bass (or Ray), 2 Firsts for Marvin Williams and Josh Smith.

Hawks get completely rebuilt (they leverage 3 picks into a higher one). We get Josh Smith.

i do it if Josh Smith agree to a contract extension. Dont want to trade 2 picks for a one year rental. Then go out and sign Chris Kaman or another big

C--Chris Kaman
PF-Kevin Garnett
SF-Josh Smith
SG-Paul Pierce
PG-Rajon Rondo
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Yeah I do that trade in a heartbeat. Id even do Bass, Green, and Ray, with the choice of one or two draft picks for Smith Williams and maybe a future first or second.

Rondo/Dooling
Bradley/Petey
Pierce/Williams
Smith/Wilcox
KG/Free Agent Center

Reckon the Hawks would do it? I think only we can offer two first rounders.

It would be surprising if the Hawks dealt Smith just to improve their draft position.

Doesn't make sense to get worse in the short-term when the short-term holds the last of Joe Johnson's prime.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler
