Ray Allen to the Bulls...any* ideas?

I don't understand why the Bulls would want Ray Allen.

The Bulls are already looking to 2013-2014 - Rose is not going to be anywhere close to full strength, and may not play at all, next season.

Why acquire someone with Ray's age/injury concerns?

Ray is a free agent. Why the hell would Chicago give us much of anything for him? If Ray wants to go to Chicago, Chicago will just sign him. Maybe to give him a little more money we could get a second round pick or the option to swap firsts in the future.

Chicago is going to be over the cap, this limits the amount they can pay Ray Allen.

Glen Davis was a FA, yet we were able to get Brandon Bass in return for him. There are many more examples that happened under the old CBA too.
