his agent says that jeff is the #1 free agent apart from deron williams

"We've picked out three or four teams, of which Boston is one, that he has a high level of interest in talking to. I would say that Boston is the incumbent, but I've learned in this business not to assume things. Nothing is guaranteed."

How many of those teams will be willing to shell out big $$$$ when they find out that no one will insure Green's contract?

The type of interest is probably "any chance we can sign him for really cheap?"

  Anyone out there think that Jeff Green is more sought after than KG?

Agents=politicians on the believability meter.

If either tell you the sun sets in the west, you better go look.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Ah yes....the legendary Jeff Green. If he ends up playing half as well as the buzz he's created in Boston, he'll be the second coming of Wilt Chamberlain ;D ;D

This is the issue, and why Green is likely going to have to prove it next season before he gets his next big deal.  And I think a big reason he is getting so much interest is because he will be cheap compared to his talent level.

Everybody loves a bargain.

The important point is that there may be teams willing to pay more than we are. On the other hand, we have the most flexibility.

I see us matching any offer in terms of $$, but not in years.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'd love for us to have Jeff Green. But this doesn't worry me at all.

The fact that we have two 1st rounders and a bunch of available solid 3-4 player makes me okay if Jeff does not sign with Boston.

I would expect Green to be drawing interest from 30 teams. I hope we can put Green to some value. If Green signs elsewhere then to me the Perkins trade is even more of a wash than it already was.

Im still holding judgement to the Perkins deal until I see if that 1st rounder they traded to us pans out.

I think Jeff Green, will sign with another team. If KG returns, then Pierce stays. That means Jeff, will have to be Paul's back-up again. If I was Jeff Green, why not sign with teams like the Magic, Bucks, Nets, Raptors, Lakers, Spurs, Wizards, where it's likely to get a starting spot.
