can this be a good trade for us?

we package PP and a pick to the kings.

we get d.cousins from sac and rip hamilton from chicago.

kings also send tyreke evans to chicago (as insurance to d.rose's knee) and receives CJ watson in return.

d.cousins, i believe will fluorish with rondo around and will learn from KG (we must re-sign him).

we also get a great shooter in hamilton and a very good professional.. that can alleviate the loss of ray allen.

next step would be to re-sign kg of course (for about 8mil), j.green (for about 5mil), stiemsma (about 2mil). And we still have one pick (about 1mil)

here's how the team would look like so far:

PG  -  Rondo/Moore
SG  -  Bradley/Hamilton
SF  -  Green
PF  -  Cousins/JJJ
C   -  KG/Stiemsma

i think we are still way below the cap... we can still target free agents like batum, ilyasova, wallace, ryan anderson, hibbert, or mcgee depending on our needs.

Great idea. I think Kings should throw in an unprotected 1st pick too.  :o

The Kings are not trading Cousins.

They do want to surround him with grown-ups, which is the only reason a Ray Allen or PP move would even be conceivable, and in part why they want to unload Evans.

But I think the package would be more like PP and a pick for the Salmons contract and Evans.

And even then, Pierce would probably retire rather than play for the Kings.

Not good enough. I want a super-clone that splices the DNA of MJ and Bill Russell.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Instead of us getting Rip, let's send him to Sac town. Then Add Asik along with CJ Watson. We can send the Bulls JJJ + Second Round pick too.

So...

Celtics lose Pierce, future second,#21, and JJJ.
Celtics gain DeMarcus Cousins.

Chicago Bulls lose Rip, Asik, and Watson.
Chicago Bulls gain Tyreke Evans, JJJ, future second.

Sac Town lose Tyreke Evans, DeMarcus Cousins.
Sac Town gain Pierce, #21, Asik, Watson, and Rip.

How's that? I see two flaws with this, though. Bulls will have to value Evans a lot to give up so many assets. Also, Sacramento is gaining vets and good players (enough to be a playoff team), but lose their franchise talents. They do have the 5th pick, however, along with the 21st.

Sac Depth Chart

Thomas, Watson
Thornton, Rip
Pierce, Salmons, Some Scrub
Thompson, Hayes
Asik, Whiteside

Use the 21st to get Nicholson or a decent PF, or maybe use the 5th to get Drummond. Either way, they would add more posts.

What do you think?

What do you think?

I think that there's still no chance in hell that the Kings give up Cousins and Evans for a package centered around Paul Pierce.

With starter quality SG Rip as your 6th man, A big body that can fill the void left by Cousns leaving in Asik, fulfilling a need in a back up point, a great prospect PF at 21, it's not the worst deal. Who knows? Maybe they decide that they no likey Cousins and want to replace him with Drummond, or maybe they want to content NOW. Perhaps at the 22nd pick as well?

Asik doesn't even compare to Cousins

This. Asik is a roleplaying backup center. Cousins has all star potential. Lets face it a scenario like this would never happen, 29 teams arent looking out for the celtics haha...

What about Pierce, 21st, Asik, and Watson?

Asik, Watson, both of the Celtics draft picks and quite possibly the entire Celtics roster wouldn't be enough to get Cousins.
