jon jones should not be allowed.  he is a mixed martial artist.  not a professional wrestler.  he has an amateur background in wrestling, but he is a MMA fighter now, with a background in wrestling....and ju jitsu, and boxing, and muay thai, etc.

He gets paid for wrestling, how is that not a professional wrestler?

ufc/mma is not wrestling.  it is mixed martial arts.  wrestling is just one component.  ur essentially stating all mixed martial artists fit the category.  the most common blue print for mma is a combination (thus the term, "mixed") of boxing, muay thai, wrestling, ju jitsu, and sometimes a traditional martial art such as taekwondo or karate.

ask dana white if he is paying jones as a professional wrestler and he will say no, its MMA and jones is a mixed martial artist.

Disagree, all it says is, "professional wrestler," never says it has to be wcw, WWE, or NWO.  Dude wrestles and gets paid for it it's a perfectly legit pick.

he doesnt get paid to wrestle.  thats the thing.

thats like buying a car and instead of calling it a car, saying you bought  a fan belt.

wrestling is a component, he doesnt wrestle, he does mixed martial arts

Nobody from the WWE gets paid to wrestle, they get paid to act...

who is up?  the thread title says yoki til 1230.  it is now about 230, that mean roy is about to be up?

There are no hard fast schedules.  If an hour or more has passed someone can initiate a pass and that person can pick later.

Sensing some stress here.  This is to be a stress free endeavor.
Yup

For my wild card I will select John mitchel.  One of my personal hero's who has the guts to call the British out during the potato famine.

thats ur argument?!

im not trying to single you out for your jones pick.  we have a history of not getting along, and my disapproval for ur jones pick has nothing to do with the person picking it and has everything to do with it not fitting the category. i also pointed out george w (he won) and JMJ (he was a dj, not a rapper) should not fit.  i also pointed out that i dont see the difference between a duo and a team (thus, i would approve ur dream team pick).

im not trying to cause drama, just stating why i dont think some things should apply and my logic behind them.

Meant more about the schedule.  You're as free as anyone to push the schedule along.  It's open ended.

As far as your opinions go, unless something is outlandishly off target we can let things slide in this draft.

In personal defense of the one selection of mine in question isn't saying "Jam Master Jay isn't a rapper, he's a DJ", a little like saying "Rajon Rondo isn't basketball player, he's a point guard"?
Yup

if anyone can find me a song where JMJ actually rapped a bar or verse (not as a hype man or simply talking), i will be surprised and gladly retract my disagreement of his fitting the category.  even the song "jam master jay", he doesnt rap.  run dmc is one of my fav groups

Right, but he was part of a rap band.

And thus a rapper.
