I think TOT meant the charges about swapping first class seats for coach ones and keeping the surplus cash themselves. Joey Crawford was one of those, IIRC.

The fact that Stern kept refs on the NBA payroll despite felony convictions tells you everything you need to know about the guy.  A commissioner with integrity would have never allowed felons to preside over the game.

There was a scandal where NBA refs were convicted of cashing in first class airline tickets and flying coach, pocketing the difference and not declaring the income.  Eight convicted felon refs were rehired by the NBA, and one just was named Director of Officials

I don't think it is an inclination of their ability to do their job, and I'm not against second chances, but they stole from the NBA, and I think it was a mistake to hire those guys back, let alone promote one.
