This isn't earth-shattering, but I thought it was worth sharing nonetheless (from IamaGM via Fox):

Quote
According to Sam Amico from Fox Sports:

Quote
On top of an active off-season on the market, the Celtics are said to be looking to package their picks and move up five or six spots in the draft. Or they could keep the picks and get two young good players from what is considered a pretty deep draft.

“They have a lot of options for a team that made it to the Eastern finals,” the GM said. “One, of course, is blowing the whole thing up and starting the whole thing over. But I have a hard time seeing them take that route.”

I'd hate to see us use both picks to end up somewhere around 15th.  I think that there are players who will be available in the early 20s who are as good as those selected in the mid-teens.

I'd only move both picks if there was a specific player who Danny was in love with that slid.

Yeah, in this deep of a draft, I can't see much difference between midteens and early 20s. And with two picks, the Cs could address multiple needs, such as a rebounding big and an athletic wing scorer.

I can see that, but I also understand trying to improve the quality of prospect if Danny doesn't want to have as many young bodies. (not to mention there are only so many minutes to go around)

I disagree , guys like Terrence Jones, Perry Jones,Austin Rivers , Terrence Ross,Royce White will most likely all be picked around # 15. To me these guys have a lot higher upside than guys like Tyler Zellar, Jeff Taylor and Draymond Green which will be the group that we are picking from .

I would rather get one really solid pick than 2 limited players at #21 and 22.

We already have Bradley ,JJJ,Steamer, Moore to develop . Plus add a second round pick this year. I just think 2 first round drafts picks are to much to add to all those young players to develop, especially picks that will most likely end up being bench players in the NBA.

Well, at least this should give some fans some perspective on how far we might be able to move with the two picks.  This is about what I have assumed (around #15) but I have seen some suggest that we could package and go top 10.  Shoot, I've seen some fans suggest top 5, which of course is ridiculous.

But I agree with what was posted earlier.  If there is someone that DA really wants sitting at #15 or so, then I trust he will make the right decision.  Otherwise, keep the picks and go for bulk.

I love this: "they could do this, or, they could do that."

Brilliant stuff from Amico.

I'd love to trade up for Meyers Leonard. Other than that, I'd rather keep the picks.

Eh, big men with mediocre college #s and spotty effort who rise in the draft on measurements and workouts are my least favorite prospects.

Austin Rivers is predicted between pick 10-15

I believe that if Danny AND Doc believe he could fit, then they will find a way to get him

Assuming Phoenix like him at 13, I could see a package deal to them like: Rivers,Redd, and Lopez for Bradley and picks 21,22

Ray is most likely gone to the Clips IMO, if he comes back then so be it. Great for Austin to learn from
Lopez can be our 5 and let KG come back and go back to the 4 AND/OR come off the bench
Redd is a S/T throw in in case Ray doesn't return. If Rivers struggles, Redd is thrown in in Ray/House role to hit 3s

In Phoenix, Nash is likely gone, and Shannon Brown is said to be gone as well. Bradley comes in and Phoenix can pursue its future of chasing Nash replacements with a Bradley/Gortat/Dudley core

Rondo,Rivers,Pierce,Green,Lopez
Dooling,Redd/Ray,Quis,Bass,KG

If Boston wants to keep the old core but limit their minutes, I think this idea is best to run(similar to the Spurs) and we can rebuild/reload simultaneously

Can't stop, Rondo!

A few guys will slip into our range and there are plenty high upside guys projected where we are. 2 for 1 is a horrible deal if were only moving six spots. Btw, I think Amico is pulling this stuff out of his crack. As someone said before it was either him or Amik that was full of it, right now I'm leaning towards Amico.

Hope C's land Royce White. Had he played for Kentucky he would be a top 7 pick in this draft.

I am sorry, I must be in the minority, but I think drafting A. Rivers is a bad idea.  So when he doesn't live up to his potential and the C's ship him out, does that mean Doc goes out with him?  Wouldn't having Doc's son on the roster create a lot of issues with the team?  I mean wouldn't the other players see him getting pref treatment.  This isn't HS where this happens all the time...

Also, I can't see KG coming back to the C's to come off the bench as a back up to Jeff Green.  I am sorry KG is still probably the 2nd best player on the team behind Rondo.  NO WAY he is going to come back and come off the bench.  So many reasons why...

If we trade both picks to move up 6-7 spots, I would almost certainly bet that Austin Rivers would be a Celtic.
