Somebody has to be there at this point. If these guys go higher, it means a couple other intriguing prospects drop to us. Much the way Avery Bradley did....

Not a bad spot in the draft actually.

It is a great spot in the draft, and our GM has been lights out drafting at or around this spot.

Really interesting how he has Perry Jones III dropping so much.

And he was supposed to be a Top 5 pick at one point.  If he gets to us I easily see Danny taking him.  Hopefully he's not the next Gerald Green.

Athletic wise PJones is a monster and he has size.   But I saw him play against UK this year and despite all that potential he falls a little short.  He disappeared in big games not exactly a ringing endorsement.  You can draft on potential but sometimes potential doesn't pan out.

16) Houston - Moe Harkless
17) Dallas - Kendall Marshall
18) Minny - Terrence Ross
19) Orlando - Perry Jones III
20) Denver - Arnett Moultrie
21) Boston - Andrew Nicholson
22) Boston - Royce White
23) Atlanta - Tony Wroten Jr.
24) Cleveland - Fab Melo
25) Memphis - Evan Fournier
26) Indiana - Marquis Teague
27) Miami - Draymond Green
28) OKC - Jeff Taylor
29) Chicago - John Jenkins
30) Golden State - Festus Ezeli

Maybe I need a reality check here, but the way this is shaking out looks great to me.

I have myself convinced that there are at least 23 guys of quality in this draft. Anyone in that 16-23 range could turn out to be a very good player.

So, we are guaranteed to get two of those guys.

But then from Melo onward, I see a drop off (though I do like Green, and Fournier is intriguing).

Am I the only one who sees it this way? Too much Kool-aid?

not terrible picks however if Terrance Ross slides to 18 the Cs really should make a move for him. Potential perfect fit as 6th man.

I Love the Nicholson pick and still have alot of concerns with the White pick. I am softening on my anti- royce white stance but still would probably rather role the dice on Quincy Miller at this spot.

I also wouldn't cringe at the drafting of Jeff Taylor. He is a kid who could step right in and give solid 2/3 minutes and is an exceptional athlete.

If Pj3 slips this far I'll be p---ed he gets drafted right before our pick. Other than that I love this mock.

This Royce kid seems to have a good head on his shoulders.  Him and nicholson, moultrie, harkless would be great.

The opposite. Kicked out of school for theft and pretty much torched all bridges on his way out. Good interviews are doing a bit to mitigate the damage his actions have done, not a "good guy" by any stretch.

Still don't get what people love about Royce White. I see "tweener deluxe". Can't shoot his way out of a paper bag. He's not gonna be able to out-muscle people at the next level like he did in the Big 12. He is certainly gonna have problems shooting over them. Jack of all trades, master of none. Would rather we take Jeff Taylor with Nicholson.

I disagree with you on this. I don't think he's a jack of all trades- quite the opposite. He can't shoot or play defense. He is a master, however, of handling the ball, driving to the basket, kicking out, and rebounding. I actually do think he will outmuscle people in the NBA. He's the most powerfully built player to come out of the draft since Blake Griffin, and he may also be the most aggressive player in this year's draft.

If Whites anxiety and OCD issues are in check I don't have an issue with him being selected. I also love the Nicholson pick as I think he will have all bases covered for a future starter PF. However, I'm not in love with us selecting bigs with both picks.  We've got Wilcox, Bass, Williams, Johnson, and Garnett who all seem to want to return and can all play the 4. Oh well, as long as its BPA with both picks I'm happy.
the thing is, only JJJ is under contract.
We have no rights on Wilcox due to waiving him.
Bass will probably opt out for more money than we should pay him.
Williams, no loss there.
KG still might retire but if he doesn't, he won't be a cheap contract.

Even if we have KG, Bass and JJJ for PF this year, KG won't be around much longer and probably neither will Bass.  Having another PF to go with JJJ in 1-2 years would be a good idea instead of hoping someone comes to us as a FA (like Josh Smith).

I'd also rather see Taylor.  A draft of Nicholson and Taylor would be huge!

Agreed... no matter what you say about White, he certainly won't get outmuscled in the NBA. There are few players built like him in the league right now.  He and Sullinger are similar in that regard.

I'm afraid that White might become "Employee Number 8," 2.0.

If we got a pick that late to duplicate what Walker brought us...

It'd be a steal.
