I ask everyone this question- can you think of any NBA player who retired while healthy and performing at an all-star level at the age of 36?

I can't find one. I don't believe for a second that Garnett will retire. It's normal to contemplate retirement at the end of an exhausting ordeal. My parents did it every year for ten years before they actually retired. Garnett hasn't even entered the phase of wise, productive bench player and mentor that he is actually destined to end his career in.

So now that I've attempted to bias you, please answer "No" in the above poll and end this foolishness!!

Garnett is tired and needs R&R, big time.

He should be given a Tim Wakefield type of contract that is year to year at a mutually beneficial price tag until he decides to hang it up.

He can start, come off the bench, whatever. His role should be reduced. Our reliance on him should be less, but he should remain a key part of the mix.

I wish PP would restructure and reduce his $$ for the betterment of reloading.

I don't think what you want of Pierce is allowed.

As of 10 Days ago Sam Cassell was trying to talk KG out of retiring.  So I think he will unless he changes his mind
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

In my world through green glasses KG is going to sign vet min contract and work out with team preseason.  His lower contract is going to net us a very good free agent signing.  KG will then take most of the year off, playing...once a week but practicing.  Come playoff time he plays for real and we win it all

Part of me wants him to retire.  I would hate to see him elsewhere but am not sure building around him for two years is the most beneficial thing for the Celtics long term outlook.  I don't think tweaking this team for a full season next year results in any better finish then it did this year.
