.... the team in the Finals is going to amnesty the C that helped get them there?

No.

It is about the money.  He makes too much, and it will impact resigning better players.

I don't see what's changed for them since last year. Are people assuming that they were somehow unaware that they would need to sign Harden or Ibaka last year, or have either of them improved so much that they're worth millions a year more now than last summer?

I think they knew the risks but wanted the C, that simple.

Don't see him getting amnestied.  As far as Harden goes, I think he is worth millions more now.  I predict he gets a max offer from someone next year (and I don't think that's a bad move with his potential).

Like others say, I guess we'll see what happens but it isn't happening this summer that's for sure.

Sacramento- John Salmons, Francisco Garcia, and Chuck Hayes
Sacramento won't amnesty anyone. They had to give this bloated contract to Hayes so that they make  the salary floor this season.

Interesting.  Looking over Sacramento's roster, they aren't in as bad of shape as I thought.  Garcia only has 1 year left, Salmons they could amnesty, and they don't have any terrible contracts besides that.  A good draft pick this draft plus a big FA signing (which they have room for) could really turn things around.

Could they trade a package involving Tyreke Evans for Kyle Lowry who wants out?  Trade Evans + #5 for Lowry + #14?
Try to pry away Nic Batum
Overpay a little for Hibbert or McGee
Draft best available at #14 (pray for Austin Rivers)

Lowry
Thornton
Batum
Cousins
McGee

Is an improved squad, a good young core, and still a ton of cap space.  If Salmons is amnestied and a combined $17M was spent on Batum + center (reasonable), then SAC would still have somewhere near $12M in cap space.  And Garcia coming off the books the following season.

2020 CelticsStrong All-2000s Draft -- Utah Jazz

Finals Starters:  Jason Kidd - Reggie Miller - PJ Tucker - Al Horford - Shaq
Bench:  Rajon Rondo - Trae Young - Marcus Smart - Jaylen Brown -  Peja Stojakovic - Jamal Mashburn - Carlos Boozer - Tristan Thompson - Mehmet Okur

the only name that im really interested on this list is

Toronto- Jose Calderon

hes due $10,561,985 next season. i wouldn't mind putting a bid of up to 3 million in on him. would be nice to finally have a real backup PG, not to mention one that is not a liability shooting free throws(actually a top 5 FT shooter)

nothing here to get excited about.  a lot of mediocre players not living up to the expectations.

I agree in a way, but some of these guys seem worse than they are because at some point someone over payed for them or their skills have declined since they signed their last deal.  Depending on the price some of these guys could be valuable role players.  For instance, Elton Brand at $12 Million (I'm not sure the exact number, just an educated guess) is a rip-off.  Brand at $2-3 million is a good deal.  Same could be said for others on this list; Marvin Williams, Rashard Lewis(one of my least favorite players in the NBA, but I'm trying to be unbiased), Jose Calderon, John Salmons, etc.
