Amnesty Candidates (how it relates to the C's)

It seems like this is an avenue that hasn't been talked about nearly as much as free agency, trade, or draft picks, in improving our squad. However, given our cap space this might be one of the better ways to add solid players at less than market value. For example last year Chauncey Billups was obtained by the Clippers for a bid of 3.5M.

Interesting list... as always depends on the amount though.  Only guys that jump out to be are Gordon and Thomas and to a lesser extent Marion but they'd have to be reasonable contracts.

It's all on who places the highest bid.

Calderon and Brand interest me as well. One is a true PG that could effectively run the offense when Rondo is off the court. The other is a veteran big man that can rebound, something we desperately need.

It is about the money.  He makes too much, and it will impact resigning better players.

Correct. But it's a choice they'll have to make next summer, not this one.

They'll need to pay Harden and/or Ibaka next summer, but if they want to amnesty Perk, or anybody else, to make room for that it'll have to be this summer.  Can't use amnesty after that. 

I'm guessing they'd need at least an extension agreement for Harden in hand to consider amnestying Perk.  But I'm sure the idea is on their radar.

Sacramento won't amnesty anyone. They had to give this bloated contract to Hayes so that they make  the salary floor this season.
