He was just on Dennis and Callahan. He said he asked around the leeague what they Lakers should do and a bunch of them said they would trade Pau Gasol for PP .

I don't think the lakers would do it straight up because Gasol is a few years younger, but if you add Bass in a s+t I thinks it makes a lot of sense .

Bucher said this would leave the c's with a lineup of

PG: Rondo
SG: Bradley
SF: Green
PF: Gasol
 C: KG

Very interesting Idea, but I highly doubt it happens

No.

I do not want to see Pierce as a Laker.

I think if Danny traded Pierce like that, KG would be gone too.

With that said, it still makes for an intriguing deal from both sides.  Maybe replace KG with Ilyasova, and you have, at the very least, a very fun team to watch.

If KG leaves and we sign Bass for 7 mil to send to the lakers , that would leave the c's about 18 mil in cap space.

Would you offer near max money to steal Hibbert or McGee away from their teams?

PG: Rondo
SG: Bradley
SF: Green (6 mil)
PF: Gasol
 C: Hibbert or McGee(12 mil)

No.  I don't like either of them.

Honestly, the only free agent that intrigues me for much more than the MLE is Ilyasova.

Nope.  I would just sign players to 1 year deals and wait for next summer or try to get a guy like Josh Smith or Al Jefferson in a trade using the cap space (and then move Gasol to center, where he should probably be anyway).

Very interesting Idea, but I highly doubt it happens

Who takes the last shot in that lineup?

Ball's in Rondo's hands with post action/screens for KG/Gasol to get a post up or open jump shots.

I don't know if Bradley is out there in just a half court offensive situation though.

Ideally whoever is open through the play that they run. If it would be the end of end of quarter isos I'd be all for it.

I don't think Pierce is moved unless KG decides not to re-sign. Even  then  I think they would go for young players or picks not Gasol.

Im not comfortable giving rondo the ball in the dying seconds because of his ft shooting

I'd hate to give up Pierce, but what about this spin on Bucher's take?

Celtics receive:  Josh Smith & Marvin Williams
Lakers receive:   Paul Pierce & JJJ
Hawks receive:    Pau Gasol

This works financially (acepted on ESPN's Trade Machine).

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
We could take Gasol and then go after Smith later.
Although I'd rather keep KG.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

That was my thinking too.  Make the trade, KG walks, and use the cap space to trade for Smith.

Again, not the best basketball moves, but it certainly makes for an entertaining team.

Nobody's saying that KG would leave if Ray did, were KG and PP that much closer than KG and Ray?

If I was KG, I'd love playing with Gasol.  Excellent rebounder, another long defender, a true post option to let KG play out on the perimeter, and a good teammate.

Pierce in a Lakers jersey would be very hard to stomach though.
