Rondo would have to be dealt, with both of our picks, if we recruited a 3rd team like Sacramento to give Orlando Tyreke Evans and their #5 (read this rumour numerous times). And our picks.

Then sign Deron Williams, if Deron asks for a sign and trade so he'll make 20M. Hopefully he doesn't and accepts 18M.

Cap is projected to be 61.2M

Dwight Howard 19.3M
Deron Williams 18M
Paul Pierce 16.8M
Avery Bradley 1.6M
Jajuan Johnson 1.1M
Etwaun Moore .762K
6 cap holds 3M
sum=60.8M

After renouncing the rights of these players:

Jeff Green 2.5M salary cap exception
Kevin Garnet minimum (one year with 2nd year player option)
Mikael Pietrus minimum
Greg Stiemsma minimum (would have made 1M roughly with QO)
Marquis Daniels minimum
Keyon Dooling minimum
Sasha Pavlovic minimum (definitely like him now,not at first)
Sean Williams minimum
Ryan Hollins minimum

2013/14

Pierce and KG retires, we get under the cap to sign free agent Josh Smith and keep Jeff Green.

I would not take DWill over Rondo at this point.

You should apply for a celtics front office job... then let us read your letter of rejection.

Rondo is probably the number 2 point guard in the league after his playoff performance. Plus he is on a ridiculous bargain contract.... How people still want to trade him is just mind boggling.

If the Celtics could trade him for Howard and then sign Williams, they would be foolish not to.

Rondo and Williams are in the same class of PGs.

Howards is better then both players.

Of course the chance of this happening is less then 1% at this point.

Pure fantasy that Green and KG would come that cheaply.  Also have to waive Ray.  that bench was woeful this year and I wouldn't expect any improvement for next year other than JJJ, Moore and Steimsma.

I have a pretty good feeling DA will put together a better team than that for next year.

So, slightly higher than the chance KG signs for the minumum.
