I remember last year, the Celtics were 3-0 in the regular season vs Miami. After the Perk trade, the Celtics were 1-5 vs Miami including a regular season game and the 2nd round of the playoffs.

One year later vs Miami, with Dwayne Wade playing tough guy vs KG and Rondo while Lebron laughed in KG's face, I can't help but wonder if missing Perk's toughness is still haunting the Celtics.

Boy did Ainge mess up on this one!

Worse part is this trade could continue to haunt the Celtics for years to come.

Perkins isn't as good as he was 2 years ago. He is also overpaid.

Yes the Celtics miss him, but they also missed Posey when he left. And Posey also declined and became overpaid.

Tony Allen was the one that got away.

Stop living in the past and move on!!! What was done is done so stop talking about things that happened a year ago. It's better to look toward the future and the bright side instead of the negative.

I hated the trade then and I still do now.  I don't believe it was worth passing up an opportunity to win last year.  However, the deal DIDN'T impact the roster we fielded this season.  As I mentioned in the other thread, Perk was going to be let go regardless.

I also hated the trade then and still hate it.  I love Perk.  He's still my favorite player.  I watch all the Thunder games.  I miss him.  And I've been told hundreds of times to get over.  I haven't and I won't.  And I'm not a troll.  I just think that this was a terrible trade for the Celtics.  Worked out great for the Thunder.  But was terrible for the Celtics.

Hated the trade then.

Continue to hate trade up to this day.

Will probably hate this trade forever.

It was an epic fail for us and whether you believe Perk helped OKC or not, the trade clearly has not hurt them in any possible way considering they're on their way to winning their first championship, going through an extremely difficult road to do so.

You win some. You lose some. We lost.

I had no idea Shaq told Danny not to do the Perkins trade because he wasn't sure if he would be able to play and he definitely wouldn't be back next year!? WOW.

And Danny's whole excuse for trading Perk was because he was depending on Shaq to start.

I'm officially disgusted and depressed all over again.

Get over it...the real death kneel for this team was letting TA walk...not Perkins. He was the only one on the team that could guard a guy like Kobe.

Thanks for sharing. It certainly doesn't help that Perk is in the finals, does it? I am just mad because this is the 2nd year in a row we were sent packing by those as**es in Miami. Whether or not having Perk would've made a difference, I don't know.

But, I refuse to believe that Miami was better than us last year OR this year. This year, certainly the refs screwed us big-time in game 2!!

Lol, me too!! But, this may help. Last year, even with Perk, I doubt the Celtics win a championship. They wouldn't have been able to beat Dallas and I doubt they would've even beaten Chicago.

This year, even if the Celtics got by Miami, I doubt they would've fared well vs OKC and their starting center.....er, nevermind. ;D

Kg was moved to Center. And he always played Center unless Hollins was in for 5 minutes. What you're gonna play Perk 8 mill to be a backup?

I kind of feel that TA needed a change of scenery to flourish. I never felt like his offensive game meshed with the 1st unit and he was inconsistent with the 2nd.

The Perk trade was a good one. You could argue that we would've won another title, but I doubt it and it would have handicapped us down the road.

Keeping Perk would've negated KG's move to center.

Exactly. KG would still be at the 4.
