If we are leaning towards blowning it up,
what is Pierce's market value right now and what would you take for him?

(1) Low level star (likely with dodgy contract)
(2) Mid to low lottery pick
(3) Cap flexibility and good prospect (Jeff Green level)

A deal so lopsided in the Celtics' favor that if Paul Pierce was asked about rumors of the trade, he would say that Danny Ainge would be an idiot to pass that up.

Lewis' last year contract and the number 3 pick.  Maybe.

I saw Tyreke Evans + 5th for Pierce. That would be tough to turn down

I'll be all over that, but I want Pierce to retire a Celtic, and not to mention it might be a chain reaction. If we trade Pierce, KG retires immediately and Ray Ray leaves

Pierce was about to be traded to the nets for a top 3 protected draft pick at the deadline but pierces agent blocked the deal according to Broussard.

Haven't we also heard New Jersey wanted Wallace more. I'd be curious to know what really happened there. If Paul's agent did block it, Id imagine it'd be [dang] near impossible to trade him.

Agents have too much power..

Heard Broussard say the same thing.  I dont' think Pierce can be traded if he has that kind of power.  He will probably just threaten retirement if they decide to trade him.

His agent blocking the deal is the only thing that makes sense because there is no way in the world any team [even the Nets] could opt for Wallace over Pierce.

If it happened, it definitely wasn't the first time Paul Pierce blocked Ainge from trading him.

I can see them wanting an expiring contract in Wallace (don't specifically remember what NJ traded) but that move probably didn't make Deron Williams any more interested in staying.

But I gotta say, even though Pierce has the potential to hold Danny hostage, demanding not to leave is refreshing compared to what normally happens when a team has a player holding them hostage and demanding out immediately.

The only(realistic) deal I would've been ok with is Pierce for Gerald Wallace. I think Wallace really embodies a lot of our whole "being a true Celtic" things. I can't explain it but I love the guy.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

The Kings will shop Tyreke Evans for less. I read the other day they do not plan to option his fourth year after this year. He has to play out of position and he and Cousins supposedly really do not get along. Danny wanted him in the 2009 draft and I could see us making a real push for him this off season.
