Some of you may not agree with me. Some will say that DA made a bad moves lately, even i still blame DA for not resigning Tony Allen. For the Perkins trade i hate it because i love Perk but it was a good trade for team.

I made this thread just to point out that DA made 2 not good but great trades in the offseason and we should give him praise.

1.Traded Albert Miralles to the Milwaukee Bucks for Keyon Dooling and a future 2nd round draft pick.

2.Traded Glen Davis and Von Wafer to the Orlando Magic for Brandon Bass.

Maybe than didn't seem like this trades would effect the team but coming this far in the playoffs, they helped, they played their role. Bass from a very good 6th man became starter on this team and him and KG together became a very good frontcourt with Rondo feeding them with passes. LAtely we can see Dooling playing Bradley's role on the defensive end with his pressure on the ball good defense.

I just want to say it not easy to be GM and we all have diffrent ideas how the teams should look but despise injures DA made a good team and even if you don't agree with me i will say : GOOD JOB, DA

1. Even though the Celtics won't get the 2nd round pick from Milwaukee, Dooling was a terrific pickup. His skill set is exactly what the bench unit has needed for some time.

2. When Ainge made the trade with Orlando, I don't know if I was happier to be rid of Glen Davis, or that Ainge managed to get Bass in exchange. I was on cloud nine for the entire day.

Might be pure luck but danny built this team with great depth.  Strike shortened season where it seems like everyone on every team is injured.  Ainge gave the team enough depth that we could loose, Jeff Green, Chris Wilcox, Jermaine ONeil and have injured at different points of season, rondo, ray, bradley (now out for good), pietrus, greg, pierce, bass...am i missing anyone

Also great job by Doc to keep everyone on same page, no panic when we looked BAD, and everyone on team to step up when called upon!

Not that i'd take the trade back, but I wouldn't mind having Von Wafer as an option off this bench right now.

Dooling is finally doing what I though he was brought in to do all season. Hit 3's, bring energy, relish the bench role,  and scrap on defense.

Finally starting to come together and can't complain as this is when we need him. Just like Sheed he's hitting those big boy shots

Although Dooling has left a lot to be desired as an offensive PG, his defense and energy is exactly as advertised, and by all accounts he is a great teammate and veteran presence in the locker room.

Too bad we didn't get that 2nd round pick from Milwaukee.  In this kind of a draft, we could have acquired 3 legitimate 1st round talents with that pick on top of our other picks.

But the Bass-for-BBD trade is definitely Ainge at his best.  That trade was a complete theft in my opinion, especially if Bass takes his option for next year.

And actually JO going down for good was a blessing in disguise as it forced Doc into moving KG to center.  Sometimes Red is helping DA AND Doc out methinks.

It was pretty much using a trade exception to pick up Dooling from a team that wanted to do a salary dump.  Trade exceptions sound nice in theory, but they are a lot hard to utilize in practice, especially since you can't combine small ones into larger ones.  Based solely on the regular season, it was a good trade in terms of getting something for nothing.

Yep, good job DA. Not perfect, by any stretch, but very good job.
Celtics fan for life.
