Quincy Miller. He is long can shoot and has good moves on offense. In HS he was a very good athlete before he blew out his knee. Usually after a torn ACL it take 2 years to get back to what you were before. This year will be his second year after the injury and I believe it will show. They are both young and raw but since we haven't seen Quincy Miller's full athlecism I believe he has a higher ceiling.

Quincy Miller sounds like Bill Walker with a little more length

Watching him play, Miller has a lot more scoring ability than Walker. Miller actually reminds me a lot of Pierce, in terms of being a versatile scorer with a lot of moves and great footwork. He's not as physical as Pierce or as good defensively but in terms of scoring instincts I think they're similar. Obviously Pierce is a HOFer and Miller most likely won't have as successful a career, but I think the potential is there at least.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
My main concern with Miller is whether or not he will be able to defend in the NBA. I think he's going to get beat a lot off the dribble defensively because of poor lateral quickness. If he can't defend at the NBA level he might not even see the court with us. Harkless is a safe pick compared to Miller, IMO.

DraftExpress just listed best and worst case scenarios for their draft prospects:

Harkless's best case? Trevor Ariza

Miller's best case? "Poor man's Kevin Durant"
no-sign Iont even remember Ariza at UCLA lol Harkless came in nd put up great numbers on a team full of freshman nd a coach who was battling cancer he's a versatile offensive player we'd be SO lucky to have him fall to us

Is that poor lateral quickness due to his injury?  If so, shouldn't we wait for 2 years post-surgery to judge?

But Miller is definitely the 'no guts no glory' pick.

another thing to consider is the "Rondo factor". Where both guys are long and athletic and should do well running with Rondo harkless may get the nod here because Millers ability to score off the dribble becomes of lesser importance with rondo creating for them. When that is taken away Harkless's superior strength and rebounding make him the pick for me.

There's certainly a lot to be said for physicality.

Harkless has it, Qmiller doesn't really

Waiters has it, Terrence Ross doesn't

Beal has it, Jeremy Lamb doesn't

Robinson has it, PJ3 doesn't

Wroten has it, Doron Lamb doesn't

Royce White has it, Moultrie doesn't.

Melo and Nicholson kinda have it, but Nicholson didn't really show it until the second half of his senior year.

So much of the game is the willingness to get into the scrum without thinking, without fear.

There's a lot of softies in the top 25 picks.

Some real bruisers as well though. Waiters, White, and Wroten are the toughest, and Harkless is pretty tough too.

Moe Harkless dropped 30 on Duke.  In Cameron.  As a Freshman.  Playing out of Position.  Duke doesn't have lightweights down low either --- the Plumlees are huge.  Harkless' shooting will improve when he is allowed to focus at the 3, but he's tough enough and can rebound with the 4s.  Harkless is the total package.  Top 5 pick if he came out next year.  The guy also is the first TOP NYC prospect to committ to St. John's in years --- shows he has the confidence in himself that he alone can take on a challenge and succeed.  That's the kind of make up you want in a player, assuming they are a team player like Harkless is.  I'd trade up for him if necessary.
