I do think Steimer should have gotten a few mins, but I don't think he gave us too much and I'm fine with him playing little to none.

Also keep in mind for all we know he wasn't 100%.  Dude has had issues all year.

I have to agree with the OP. He's playing Rondo whose inconsistent and infuriating. He's stuck with Ray whose consistently bad. He didn't play Moore over Dooling (basically conceding the playoffs and this series before it even started), and he's not playing Greg Stiemsma. Is he purposely trying to  break his confidence, knowing he has issues with depression? Is he putting Hollins out there to mentally torment Greg? Don't even get me started on not playing Sasha and not letting Williams or JJJ suit up and shut down the Heat's front court.

I don't care that the odds makers had us as serious underdogs, we all know the series would already be over if Doc knew what he was doing.

Dude... sarcasm?

Especially the Rondo part and Ray the last two games.

I must be getting different game feeds than some of the people on here.  Just wow.

Haslem had 17 rebounds! >:(  I think Steasma could have helped a bit with preventing him from rebounding so well.  With Doc you don't know who is going to play from game to game. ::)

With every coach you don't know who's going to play game to game. Did you know joel anthony was going to start last night or that Norris Cole would get big minutes?

Especially with teams that have a thin bench it will be unpredictable who is going to play.

That's the point.  Spoelstra adjusted to what was going on, Doc didn't.

The C's won the rebounding battle last night.

It was 39-40 for the Heat, but the C's got more offensive boards and got 80% of the Heat misses and 25% of the C's own misses. That's a win.

Greg isn't an impact rebounder, he's just okay.

That doesn't outweigh how vulnerable and foul prone he is on defense.

Yeah I agree with Faf here.  Sure, we did have moments where being unable to grab a board hurt us but we always have those issues and it's not like Steimsma is really a good rebounder.

Our issue was not being as aggressive offensively in the 2nd half.

When did we pick up Sean Williams? Seriously?

Our team does have deficiencies but we are hangin in at 2 to 2 in the ECF. I am pretty sure there are 26 other NBA teams who would like to have our opportunity right now.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

This isn't about Sean Williams.  It's about Stiesma.

;D

Good stuff.

The problem I have with Stiemsma is his horrible pick and roll defense, which can make a difference defending Lebron and Wade. I like Stiemsma overall, but his feet are a mess right now. No matter who backs up KG, they are extremely flawed.

Why didn't we punishing them with size?  Where was Steamsa?
When Miami goes small they take apart Greg forcing him to foul.

Does Stiemsma really foul that much? I think he just gets no respect from refs (unfortunately).

Nothing to do with refs, he has bad discipline. He always brings his arms down instead of going up right, and he's too slow in the pick and roll at the moment and keeps shoving ball handlers.
Yup. People can get carried away because of his timing on blocked shots. Baby never had good defensive stats, but you could see that he knew how to play team defense.

I love the Dooling, Pietrus, Daniels rotation for this series.  He just keeps throwing different defenders at James and Wade.  Those guys are going to have their moments where they go off, but we've also managed to have moments where we keep them in check.

Sprinkle in some minutes for Stiemsma and Hollins as needed, and Doc is making the most out of the bench that is available to him.

Think about this: Our best bench player right now is Keyon Dooling, a guy who had a 30 something page thread running for much of the season dedicated to trading him for a bag of fritos, a towel boy, or a pair of sweaty gym socks.  Marquis Daniels was the definition of a forgotten man during the regular season.  He got a pass because everybody loves Smokey Q, basically this year's version of Scal.  Greg Stiemsma is a D-League, 26 year old rookie journeyman who was a serious long shot to make the squad during the shortened pre-season.  When Ryan Hollins was brought in much of the conversation was focused on how he was a challenger to Javale McGee for dumbest basketball player in the league, only with much less skill.
Pietrus was the only one of this group who anyone could have foreseen contributing in the post-season, and he hasn't been able to hit the broad side of a barn in over a month.

And, we are complaining that Doc's doing a terrible job with managing the minutes of this rag tag bunch of NBA misfits that is currently passing for a bench.

Great job by Doc, and great job by the bench going out and giving it their all whenever they are called upon and fitting the definition of what it means to be a Celtic!!

SEAN WILLIAMS PLEASEEEEEEEE GIVE HIM A SHOT

HE CAN BLOCK SHOTS LIKE A BEAST and is athletic enough to guard pick and roll

i've always been hoping that doc use williams. i'm glad i'm not alone.

You guys are suggesting that we give a guy who has roughly 10 minutes of playing time in a Celtics uniform meaningful time in the conference finals?

This is an NBDL player with upside with no time on the roster...Let alone the court.

It's not like Williams has Bosh's resume'...Where you can plug him in after not playing and expect good things.
