i went to the Lakers RealGM forum today and found a hilarious thread where they debated if they could sign Kevin Garnett in the offseason:
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1183920 Lol. Who knows what KG will do. I think if you asked him point-blank right now privately he'd tell you this is his last year and he's leaving it all on the court. I think that's partially a motivational thing. Pierce is saying the same thing. They are all mentally telling themselves this is their last chance to create a sense of urgency. But I think eventually this offseason, he'll realize he was still averaging 20 and 10 during the playoffs, they made it all the way to the final 4, this is the game he absolutely loves... and there is no reason to hang it up when he still has some left in the tank. He'll talk to some of his retired friends like Reggie Miller (who contemplated coming back after retirement) who will tell him, "A couple years from now you'll regret quitting this game with something left in the tank... you only have a small window of basketball left... might as well make the most of it"... And bottom line... I think he returns. KG moreso than anyone in this league gives me the impression of a guy whose entire life revolves around basketball. He lives to play this game. It's his entire life. I have a hard time believing he'll walk away from this game in his condition.
I really can't see him playing for any team other than Boston, though. He's too loyal. He doesn't like change. He would have played the rest of his entire career in Minnesota had they not finally agreed to spare him and send him to Boston. From BOston's perspective... unless they plan on stripping this team down to nothing (that includes dumping ROndo for lotto picks) and rebuilding from scratch... there is no reason for them to NOT bring KG back. He's the 2nd best unrestricted free agent available behind Deron Williams. He's playing like arguably the 2nd or 3rd best center in the league. They have to bring him back if they can.
