all signs are pointing towards KG coming back to Boston on a one year deal..

and maybe KG wont be able to play better than he has these playoffs...but with some retooling, the Celts could be a top 2-3 team in the East next year.

remember, Derrick rose is out 12months..he might not be coming back until march/april 2013

you've got Bradley back with another year of improvement under his belt. Maybe Jeff green coming back off the bench. Bass picking up his option. moore/JJJ another year, and our draft picks.

we could possibly have a pretty deep team where Pierce/KG wont have to average 20ppg and be like the spurs..

I'd rather KG leave a year too early than a year too late.

If someone believes that the team needs to rebuild by getting worse and getting a high draft pick before getting better, then KG staying a year too late and having his production level absolutely crater might be the fastest way to get there without trading Rondo for inferior talent.

What a baseless story!  Some guy who used to know him in Minny thinks from watching how well he's playing that he's leaving all out on the court and about to retire?

That's an downright embarrassing premise for reporting.

I might be thinking about what I ate for dinner.

Or, I might not.

How would KG not be thinking about retirement? He has played 17 seasons and is getting old... But he is also thinking about coming back next year. He might not. I mean, those are his only two options... Man, I should be a sports writer I would kill it.

If he's gone, guess we're not going to have a long snapper for these sort of highlights. :(

I would probably be more emotional about another ring for the big 3 than my first child being born... Seriously.

And if we DID win this season, KG and Ray would both retire, IMO....

Man you think so? I think it would be tough. I dunno if they'd have the energy for another run, win or lose this one honestly.

MacMullan said Garnett will be next year in the Celtics, then I do not understand anything, then come rumors that he will retire.

Woj said on Thunder/Spurs postgame that there is momentum from the Celtics and KG's camp for him to come back on a 1 year deal.

To see what happens, for now we must win tonight or so, a must win, the Garden has to be hell for Miami.

I take what Woj and Jackie Mac report (with Jackie naming Doc as her source) way ahead of what some guy who used to know KG in MN thinks from watching how he's playing.

I think this is a drama rumor to cause a team turmoil.   Let's win today and win the series and the championship then sort it out.

KG's ego is huge. He will play next season. They will probably have to carry him off the court. This is a guy who couldn't live without displaying his nutsy antics and what bigger stage is there for him? He's in very good health especially knowing he can make millions working 32 minutes a day 4 days a week. Now that he has stolen the show from Paul Pierce with his new friend and accomplice Rondo. Now the Big Three are Rondo, KG, and Pierce in that order. Allen's out because he is like a Swiss Watch, all parts have to work in harmony or it doesn't work. That's real old Basketball, takes too much energy and time. Even if Danny throws darts at the list of availables next Seaaon the bench has to be better than this one aside from Bradley. He likely will make his decision when DA announces his plans to build around The Big 3 minus Allen.

Win or lose, I don't think either should retire.  Heck, if Dwight Howard doesn't end up in Brooklyn, then if Ainge isn't willing to bring back Garnett and Allen, then I think they should both go take the big money that the Nets are rumored to be willing to throw out to make a big splash in their new home.
