Will Barton. The more I investigate, the more I like him. I think people are underrating him because he is slim.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I didn't know we worked out Fab Melo. When was this? It seems that we're looking at everything but point guards (not surprising). I find it a little bit interesting that the two guys projected outside of our range (Barnes and Ross)that we worked out are wings.

Meyers Leonard would be a great pick.

My dream scenario (as our picks stand now) is Leonard to fall to us at 21 (which is unlikely) and we pick Nicholson with 22.

Pierce and Jeff Green on the wing, with RR and AB as our starting backcourt, resign KG and Wilcox get a scoring 2 (Mayo or whomever) and we are good to go, present and future.

That would be exciting.

It might be a good idea to flag where these guys are projected to go, as in 1st or 2nd round, so no one flips out the Celtics are working out guys outside the top 50.

I hope Orlando Johnson works out for them.  He has me really intrigued after his workout numbers in NJ because apparently they came after he lost a lot of weight.  When I saw his games, I was really impressed by his skill level and overall feel for the game but thought he was in poor shape.  Sometimes players can lose weight and not see a big change in their athleticism; Orlando seems to fall in the other class.  If the workout numbers after his weight loss means he will have very good athleticism to use all his skills, then he might be a steal.  Good ballhandler, ability to score in all areas and underrated floor game.

I'm still waiting for a Royce White workout :(

However, I do like that we are wokring out Melo, Nicholson, Barnes and Ross

actually I don't see why we also aren't working out Terrance Jones

I know it's still early in the draft process and they'll work out many more players but it's curious that Barnes is the only one on this list who is right now a projected surefire lottery pick.  I can't see them working out Thomas Robinson or other players who are frequently lumped in with Barnes like Beal, Kidd-Gilchrist or Drummond.  One, I doubt their agents would be interested in even having those players work out for a team currently drafting as low as the Celtics are and two, the Celtics might think it'll be a waste of time anyway.

Perhaps Barnes' working out shows that he and his agent are a little unsure of where his draft floor is and don't want to overlook any team who could stop a potential draft day slide (after the Celtics engineer a trade to move up of course).  Perhaps it also shows that the Celtics think Barnes could drop on draft day and make sure they've done all their due diligence with him in case.

I think its possible that the team wants to see if a guy like Barnes is worth trading up for. There's no way hes going under top 10, but if the C's see a bonafide superstar in the making when they work him out they might want to trade up picks to grab him. If not, they'll keep 21 and 22. thats my theory

Marcus Denmon is the man. Tough, good defender, efficient, nice 3pt shooter. Born to be a Celtic.

Myeres Leonard is going to be a Marcin Gortat type player IMO. He already has a very nice jump hook that he can get off against anyone in the NBA. He is also very strong, athletic and seems to have good foot work . I would LOVE to add him with one of our picks, but he is likely to go in the top 15 .

I also really like Nicholson a lot . Great low post game ( big al like ) . Has extended his range to 3pt and shot a very good % the last half of the season. He would greatly benefit the c's by giving them a low post option they can throw it down to to get easy buckets without having to wear out PP,KG ,Ray and Rondo trying to get a shot on the offensive end every time down .

Barnes and Ross aren't going to be around when we pick(unless we can trade into the to 12).

I would love to see Royce White in Green to. The kid is going to be a player of at least Boris Diaw's caliber , which is a very good role player on a contender or he could be even better , like a Rondo at the PF spot. He does everything on the court. Averaged 13/9/5 , but isn't a very good shooter at the moment ( much like Rondo at kentucky)

White pretty much dominated against Kentucky and their NBA front court of Davis and Jones .He put up 23 pts, 9 rebs,4 asts and 3 stls on 9-12 shooting , and there was at least 2 times he took the ball coast to coast and blew by kidd-gilchrist and Anthony Davis and dunked it. He is going to be really good I think !
