Is this not the most predictable thing in the world? Everyone watching these past two games you know there will be some memo handed down to "watch for lebron wade travels" or something like that.

None of our guys will get in foul trouble. Everything will be all honky dory to shut everyone up.

Tim Donagy pretty much makes these types of claims but I know people get upset with them because they are so very beleiveable.

Either way there is no doubt we get the calls in game 3 and we will win and feel good. It will prob go back to crap in game 4 tho once we get one game of home cooking

All for the sake of more revenue for the Cheat owners, the NBA, and the ABC/ESPN networks, right?
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Yes this is true.  I'd say about 98% true.  But, it simply highlights the disgraceful and disgusting nature of the NBA officiating under Stern.

The refs throwing a few calls the Celtics' way in Game 3 equates to the refs throwing a few calls their way at the end of Game 1.

The foul discrepancy in Game 1 would have been very telling if the refs didn't make a committed effort to sending the Celtics to the free throw line with 6 minutes left in a 17 point game.  Once the game was completely in Miami's hands, the refs went about making things seem fair "on paper."  The final free throw tally was: Miami=23, Boston=21, but 6 of Boston's free throws came in basic garbage time.

The free throw discrepancy in Game would have looked like this: Miami=23, Boston=15.  15 free throw attempts in a physical playoff series?!?!?!  The refs had to make that look better, and when the game was in Miami's hands, they did.

And, just like in Game 2, James and Wade both ended Game 1 with TWO FOULS... with their second fouls coming in garbage time while up by 15+ points.

We've all discussed the ridiculous, vomit-inducing officiating of Game 2.

Now, in the most duplicitous manner, the refs will probably throw calls the Celts' way in Game 3, and maybe even in Game 4, but here's the thing: When a team is up 2-0 in a playoff series, they win that series 94% of the time.  The league, and refs, know this.  Being up 2-0 in the playoffs is akin to being up 17 with 6 minutes left in a game.  It equates to garbage time.

The Celts may get calls in Games 3 and 4, and they may win Games 3 and 4, but the league and refs will never allow them to win Game 5 in Miami... and that is all that needs to be known about what's going on in this series.

It has been decreed by Stern-in-high: The Heat shall make the Finals.

I don't think so.

I think we might get the shaft again.

Just because we're home doesn't mean we get the calls.

It's been like that for years.

Every once in a while the C's get one or two calls to go their way that happens to be fortunate in a deciding moment of a game.

The C's need to get to the line by being more aggressive and looking for contact and to FINISH.

The role players need to step up at home.

The league has always subsidized Queen LeBron.   I expect him to be bailed out as much as usual as the league has invested millions in marketing him to the public.

I think we wil get the benefit of the doubt in game 3 but it is no guarantee that we win.  Obviously, we need to win the next two games to make this a series.

That's why I'll never blame the refs.  There is no bias against Boston.  It goes both ways.  Every bad call you think the Celtics get, there eventually are good calls that are in our favor.  We've won many games that other teams could blame on reffing.  People just don't normally flip out on message boards about all the calls that went their way.

I can think back to like 2008 in the Finals when we came back from down 24 points to beat the Lakers.  The refs were letting us get away with total murder in that stretch.  It is what it is.  No complaints from me.  We lost last night, because Miami beat us.

Ok, tell me what good calls that went in our favor last night. I dare you to tell me how it was balanced and how we were given a fair shake to win that game.

So we as fans should just be alright with incompetence because one day down the road we might get paid back ::)? Is that how you think this league should operate? Why would you condone such horrible job performance?

You do contradict yourself in a way by bringing that game up. We shouldn't be made at the reffing because Miami was clearly better than us, and we can't be upset because the refs helped us out in an historic comeback. I'm confused, are they a factor that can determine the game or not?

Sure we have benefited in the past, I don't like that either. It should never happen in either case.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Before the series even started I thought there would be some home cooking fouls and catch up fouls. The NBA does not want a 4 game sweep. They'll give Boston a couple 50-50 calls in games 3 and 4 in critical moments. Ideally the NBA would like this series tied 2-2 after 4 games. There is so much money to be had by having a game 6 and 7.

I would rather they call the rest of the series fairly than give us a bunch of random calls in a game we WILL win anyway.  I refuse to make this year about the refs.  I refuse to make this year about the Heat.  They are not worth it.  This year is about the Celtics and banner 18.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on that. It's hard to change years of conditioning. Sometimes I think the refs just can't help themselves.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.
