We need to shut down one of Wade or LeBron, or at least curtail their scoring significantly.

I'd seriously consider putting Pierce on Wade, let him use his length on him. Put Sasha on James to start, then bring Quis. Let them work on James for a while. Mix it up.

I think Wade will get wherever he wants to go against Ray.

Paul is our best shot at curtailing one of these guys. I'd throw him at Wade, try it out.

If Paul was healthy it would be an idea.  He isn't fast enough to stay with lebron or battier much less a super fast 6'3" or 4" shooting guard.
We need MP to step up big, ray did little to stay with wade, he's being a trooper  but you can't be that injured and be expected to help much.  After MP I'd like to see sasha and daniels get some time but whoever is in needs to RUN

I would like to just see us put laughing boy on his back once hard on a dunk or alley oop.

there's some merit to this thread.

i'd prefer Sasha over Pietrus at this point - talk about still being hurt!

I know. If there is one thing our bench could do is it could defend. Pierce and Ray simply can't do that well enough right now.

Please, Doc, make the adjustments. Even if you have Ray/Pierce on the floor, have them take on easier assignments.

  • You say when......
Just watch San Antonio, and see where we should be...with the young/old combo's....but not here with doc......same talent levels....pop just played these guys ALL season.....so they are ready to contribute in the playoffs......doc barely wants to play 7 guys......sure, it would be GREAT....if our guys were 26 yrs old avg......NO reason sasha sat all this time....while pp was hurt..and all this Ray allen injury time....doc just bites the bullet.....somehow pp got better by playing....not Ray.....bone spurs do not heal.....

The sad part is that both Ray and Paul are liabilities against the Heat.

Doc had plenty of opportunity to get and keep Sasha playing over the past month so as to be ready for this--and he didn't do it.

Arguably playing Sasha and Pietrus against James and Wade gives the C's their best chance of beating the Heat.  But there is zero chance of Doc going that way.

At the very least, as some others have suggested here, he should empty his bench by playing the four of them plus Dooling 20 minutes each in frenetic, wear the Heat's stars out mode.
