This is seriously mind boggling. I get it that Wade and Lebron are athletic freaks and very good defenders , but COME ON.....

Lebron and Wade had zero fouls in the 1st half and the first time one of them was whistled for a foul was at the 6 min mark of the 3rd quarter. Then they give Lebron a bunch of ticky tack fouls to get him to the line ( the pietrus one being the worst)

PP and Rondo got fouled at least 4 times while attempting shots .

And then at the end of the game the national broadcsters say, oh just look at the free throws , they were almost even so the c's can't complain about it being unfair.  That's such a nonsense statement because it matters when the calls are made. Lebron and Wade get zero fouls on them in the 1st half(which allows them to stay out of foul trouble and lets them be able to defend without worry in the 2nd half) while the c's get called for 4 bogus techs and if you breathe on Wade or Lebron they are at the line .

Then after the game is already in hand for Miami and they are up 15 points the refs start calling make up fouls to make the total fouls look somewhat even at the end of the game , but by that time it's to late for those calls to even have any kind of impact on the game .

Sorry about the long rant , but this is just insane. I am seriously about to stop watching the NBA , it's so [dang] scripted and the game is so ugly to watch with all these bogus calls . I love Basketball, but David Stern has ruined the NBA with these refs.

Or perhaps LeBron and Wade were actually fouled while attacking the basket?

Watching the game, it seemed to be called pretty fairly besides the admittedly ludicrous technical fouls.

For all those who state the NBA is fixed - was it fixed when we won our 17 titles or was it fixed every year other than those years?

if you can't see that there is favoritism in the NBA then I don't know what to tell you .

I didn't say it was the only reason they lost the game , but when the 2 guys on your team with the ball in their hands the most ( Rondo and PP) can't get 1 ft between the both of them it has to make you wonder.

How about the foul with the shot clock running down where Lebron slammed Rondo in the head and they called it a shot clock violation ?

If Wade and Lebron have zero fouls half way through the 3rd quarter, that's just crazy. The Heat are talented enough to win games without these refs giving them even bigger advantage of being able to play 40+ mins without any worry of fouling out or getting into foul trouble causing them to be taken out of the game .

Agreed.  It irritates me when fans of the sport argue collusion, not recognizing that we'd be benefiting from this.  If I truly believed a sport was biased, I wouldn't watch.

You two should start your own site then, and live in Lala land together. If you didn't recognize somthing was wrong with the foul differential in that game then you don't know the game of Basketball too well.

Neither one of you have any leg to stand on and quite frankly I question whether your fans of this team or just trolling this site after a pathetic David Stern classic. So if you need to troll take it elsewhere. Your gonna find the vast majority of us have a short fuse today. That is all.

We won 17 titles.  If the NBA was fixed, our 17 titles were fixed.  You are the troll here, criticizing Bird, KG, Pierce, McHale and the rest.  Unless they never benefited from a call. Please.

So the NBA is only "real" when we win and is "fixed" when everyone else wins?  Or are you saying that the NBA was fixed when we one too?  You are the troll here.

We did win the title in 08 right?  Was it fixed then?  You should form your own site, discrediting the 08 NBA Champions like that.

Lebron's two-hand shove to Pierce's back that resulted in a turnover in the 2nd half was a nice summation of the officiating in the game.

The fact that Lebron and Wade trap constantly, reach constantly, swing wildly at every shot, and yet combined for 2 fouls is ludicrous.

Rondo got knocked in the head on several of his drives and James body checked him and landed on him during one of his "blocks" (when Rondo did the ball fake, pivot back to the middle move), and yet none of these were fouls.

when you're playing Miami you have to start with the knowledge that they're going to get 8 to 12 free FTs a game, and that you're going to lose 6 to 10 FTs that you would normally get.

Thanks for starting this post ... I needed to vent.  :)

If you think the NBA is scripted and no longer want to watch the games, feel free. Nobody is forcing you.

If you think officiating was the reason the Celtics lost, then good for you.  You're wrong, but good for you.

Did you know that we shot over twice as many free throws in Game 5 against a younger and more athletic 76ers team?  Did you know that their blogs complained about that game being scripted and fixed to favor the team with more star power?  Did you know there are 28 NBA teams other than the Celtics and HEAT?

What you fail to grasp is the concept of "flow" in an NBA game. To those of us who are older than 14 it's a pretty common topic in any Basketball game.

Once again.. If you didn't see the refs mess with the "flow" of this game in a negative fashion for the Celtics then you are new to the game of basketball and I suggest you hold your tongue.

hey buddy, the refs absolutely sucked last night. they were terrible.

they were probably the 4th biggest reason we lost, behind missed FTs, easy layups and the Heat supporting cast playing well.

I am well older than 14 and older than you.  Makign excuses after a loss is a loser's chore unless you played perfectly.  The Celtics didn't play perfectly.

You think it is mere coincidence that we struggled to score in the last series too? And the one before that.  Our "flow" has sucked for 14 straight playoff games now.  I guess all were due to the officials.   ::)

If all of your points are nonsense insults, I suggest you stop posting.  It is pointless and rude.

I ask again, was our 08 Title team scripted and fixed?  Or are only the games we lose scripted?

I can accept this post here.  The refs weren't great but they were at most the 4th most prominent reasons for the loss. Let's fix the top 3.  Blaming the refs is for losers.  Notice that Belichick never blames the refs, even after the Denver playoff game years back.

I'm not talking about any other game besides last night which is the topic at hand. In basketball "momentum" say it with me.. M-O-M-E-N-T-U-M is extremely important and the key to any game. If you didn't see the refs last night kill what we had of it then your a noob to this sport. It's really sad there are such uneducated fans of this team. Watch some more ball read a few books and grow some hair on your chest before you decide to post again. You clearly have a lot to learn about this sport and how it's idealy played and should be referee'd. Go blog on a Miami site. You'd fit right in.

We also had our best scoring quarter of the entire postseason in last night's game.  Your excuse making is quite impressive.  And I'm older than you and have seen much more basketball than you.

I ask again, was our 08 NBA Title team fixed? Or the Philadelphia series?
