Ray Allen will be lucky to get 3 million a year after these playoffs.

My guess is that he will seriously consider retirement.

so will KG and Paul imo

i simply do not understand why we can't run an offense with some motion - ball and players. we run the high ball screen, dribble around, make a couple of passes out at the 3 pt. line, then end up with some one-on-one 15' fadeaway, which is one of the lowest percentage plays in basketball.

how can we not have a more diverse offense ?

i know we are hurting, Ray Ray especially - but at aa minimum, run the flex or something to get people moving !!

All the "fans" left.. Their team is winning and they leave. Who doesn't stay til the end?!

As a Celts season ticket holder, to be honest, many Celtics fans do the same thing. I have never left a game early, but lots do. It sucks, but it is the truth.
it does suck but I can understand it when some fans are taking a train and need to catch one out.  When it's a difference between catching an hour long train ride at 10:35 or at 12:05 (after a subway ride to the train station AND another half-hour drive after getting to the destination station to boot) I can understand.  When I've driven in, I stay the full game.

Sadly, this is a huge mismatch. Stephen A. Smith is correct.

With a half-strength Pierce, 1/8th strength Allen, 2/3  of Stiemsma, no Bradley, such a loss of big man depth that Ryan Hollins is playing rotation minutes... yes.

Throw the refs in as well

  • It's not hard to work hard.
Guys, if Pavlovic was good enough to make a difference against the Heat in a playoff series, don't you think he would have got signed by a team to play major minutes?

He's a good depth guy, fine, but he's not going to move into our starting lineup and be the answer against one of the top 4 teams in the league. He's only making $1M/yr for a reason.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

I think there may be a stronger possibility of that if they get badly beaten in this series.    If they hang in there, I could see KG coming back for 2 years possibly.  I'm pretty sure Ray's gone.

Absolutely. That is the only reason, but I think you have to be realistic as to what this team can accomplish given what it has to work with. It is sad. They could have made a run if healthy.

Yes, if healthy. And that is the crux of the age problem. Old teams fall apart on a physical level after the long grind of a season and a X number of playoff games.

Though Stiemsma, Bradley, Wilcox... these guys aren't old. They're just injury prone, I guess.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Magic looks shocked that we got so outrebounded. I mean, is this the first time he watched this team all year?

Sure, though in this particular case i doubt the people in the lower bowl at a miami heat playoff game are taking public transit...

are you'all so blind that you cannot understand how badly Ray Allen is hurt right now ?

have you ever had bone spurs ??
try sticking a couple of steak knives in your foot and ankle and then go play basketball.

Is it in droves nearly emptying the arena? The fans started leaving with five minutes left.
Take me where the Boston Celtics fans roam free without judgment from my enemies.

Well, this loss sucks, but I think Celtics can do much much better. Doc has tried to play two bigs, but I think that didn't work. Stiemsma and Hollins didn't help a lot tonight, although Greg did some good things, both were lost trying to defend Battier.

Doc needs to play more 3 small forward lineups, with Garnett at the 5 and Rondo/Dooling as the PG. Sasha + Pietrus + Pierce can work fine vs Wade + Battier + LeBron.

Need to stop Miller/Battier/Chalmers.
Need to rebound better.
Need to make free throws.

And after all these things, the Celtics need a fairly officiated game. But even with Stern boys, they could've won tonight if they did a couple of things better.

Go Celtics!
