Support Ray thread

I think there's a misconception that there's some people rooting against Ray.  I don't think that's what they're actually doing.  I think it's frustration over Ray being hurt again and playing at a level that's nowhere near what Ray is capable of--especially coming at a time when the team really needs him.  The other source of frustration is Doc playing him heavy minutes when he's not producing at the level the team needs him to.  As hard as he's trying, he's slower on D and not the shooter we know he can be.

Personally, I'm hopeful that the couple of shots he hit and the FTs he hit will get him untracked a bit against Miami where we'll need him to score some points.

I have no doubt that fans WANT Ray to do well.  But it's the bad mouthing that many posters get into when he isn't going well.  Now obviously ray probably doesn't care one way or the other what goes on on these message boards.  But you can't tell me you're supporting ray if youre calling him names throughout every game.

well if it makes you feel any better, I'm not one of the ones calling him names.  I'm one of those that disappointed he's not playing anywhere near his capabilities at this point and that Doc isn't doing more to make use of what Ray can contribute or getting more out of the bench to make them productive

The guy is in pain every time down court. How can you not give him some sort of break.

Do you realize he's not 100% and needs offseason surgery?  Unfortantely with AB out we don't have any other options.

Without Bradley, we need one or two big scoring games (18+ points) from Ray to win this series I think.  I have faith and confidence that he can get that for us.

Ray's obviously not 100% but if you look at the numbers he's out producing Bradley in the playoffs.

Excuse me, but Bradley has been considerably more injured during the course of these playoffs.

They're both playing hurt and Ray has missed way more games.

Obviously Bradley's loss is going to be felt because he provides the team with another dynamic defensive player but he really hasn't played all that well offensively.

If you look at the numbers Avery's dropped off considerably during the playoffs.

I still think it was the right decision for AB to get the surgery.

Health comes first. Health always comes first.

Ray is going to need surgery too and if it gets any worse he may have to shut it down too.

True this..I belive RAY will find a way to fight though the pain.. and before AB messed up his shoulder , he was providing a nice scoring punch to go with his defense.

It appears Boshs demise is not that critical to the HEAT.They made an ajustment...  Just let Wade and Bron take 95% of the shots now.  That was easy plan , SPO is so smart ...bet he figured that out all on his own.

well, Ray finally got going the 4th quarter of game 7, hopefully he can carry that into the next series..

they showed him before game 7 doing his warmups, and he was knocking down every single 3point shot he took...we're bound to go back to the mean on our 3 point shooting

Ray's horrendous shooting in these playoffs is a concern, but the biggest problem he has is his ankle woes do not allow him to respond quickly to plays. 

It seems like every time Philly made a hustle play, grabbed a loose ball or long offensive rebound, Ray was standing there a half second behind the play.  It's frustrating for me as a fan, and I'm sure it's incredibly frustrating for Ray Allen the competitor.

Kudos to him for playing through injury and stepping up to make two huge shots, after bricking his way to 1-9 shooting.  At one point, the Cs back court was 3-19 before Allen and Rondo stepped up and scored 19 points on 5 shots in the game's final 10 minutes.

what I thought was interesting they said after the game was that in the huddle Ray allen told doc he was going to stop shooting.

and Doc just told him to keep taking the shots in the 4th...his next 2 shots were those 3 pointers.
