Lets face it, Ray's sucked during the playoffs.  And it's David versus Goliath next round.  But the only chance we have is for Ray to be Ray.  I'm rooting for Ray unconditionally.  Keep shooting it Ray.

I love Ray.  He's severely banged up, but he played his butt off on D tonight, and hit some big shots down the stretch tonight.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Keep shooting it during the 4th quarter!

I think there's a misconception that there's some people rooting against Ray.  I don't think that's what they're actually doing.  I think it's frustration over Ray being hurt again and playing at a level that's nowhere near what Ray is capable of--especially coming at a time when the team really needs him.  The other source of frustration is Doc playing him heavy minutes when he's not producing at the level the team needs him to.  As hard as he's trying, he's slower on D and not the shooter we know he can be.

Personally, I'm hopeful that the couple of shots he hit and the FTs he hit will get him untracked a bit against Miami where we'll need him to score some points.

Precisely. TP. Allen worked his butt off tonight - and he's going to have to get it done defensively in the next series.

I have no doubt that fans WANT Ray to do well.  But it's the bad mouthing that many posters get into when he isn't going well.  Now obviously ray probably doesn't care one way or the other what goes on on these message boards.  But you can't tell me you're supporting ray if youre calling him names throughout every game.

I think there's a misconception that there's some people rooting against Ray.

I think a small number are.  I think a larger number are scape-goating him for most of our losses.  It's crazy to see some of the vitriol directed at Ray.  For instance, tonight, when he was something like a +12, people were hyper-focusing on him and blaming him preemptively in case the Celtics lost.

I guess because he's the one who has fallen off the most, some fans put a target on his back.  To each their own.  However, I agree with the OP that if we're going to advance, we're going to need contributions from Ray going forward.

I've supported Ray so far. I think he's scrapped and been playing well enough to start (as our worst starter). But I don't like him matching up on Wade at all.

Fingers crossed.

I kept seeing people mentioning how he was being schooled throughout the game, yet the Philly guards had a horrible offensive night... People see what they want to see.

I liked that Doc stuck with Ray down the stretch.  Win or lose he deserved to be on the court with the series/end of Big 3 era on the line.  And he came through...as he has so many times in the past.
