Could not understand why the ball wasn't in Pierce's hands every possession for those last 6 min or so. Rondo was having a terrible game, Pierce was getting to the line at will. Last night was a game where we should have rode on Pierce's back and see if he could bail us out.

He had 2 plays in a row that resulted in baskets at the 6-7 mark with him hitting 2up ft and then finding Pietrus under the basket who found KG for a jumper. From that point on I wanted point forward Pierce and we didn't get that at all.

Not sure if Pierce just didn't take the ball from Rondo, if Rondo didn't give the ball ip to Pierce or if Doc wanted for some reason to continue to let Rondo run the offense but someone just didn't step up there.

A lot of it has to do with the good job Philly did to keep the ball out of his hands.

I wished they got Pierce more shot last night as well since his was the shot that was falling.

Doesn't make any sense to me. He's not a center getting fronted or doubled in the post. He should have got the ball out of bounds or Rondo should have just handed the ball to him.

I really didn't think Philly was overplaying Pierce anyway. He was open a few times and I remember 1 time Rondo not passing to him and opting to Ray or KG I forget which one

Certainly, an excellent question given the apathetic performance Rondo turned in.

Frankly, I'm disappointed in Doc for not taking the ball out of his hands and putting Pierce out front to initiate the offense in the fourth quarter.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

It is all well and good to say that the ball should have been in Pierce's hands, but Philly was doubling him almost every time it was in his hands in scoring position.

We scored on 2 straight possessions with them doing that. It left open men out there instead of the old sag off rondo and stay with the shooters move the Sixers did

Wondered the same thing. Yes he was being doubled, but they have to find a way for him to get shots off. Plus, if he's doubled, someone is open. Our ball movement sucked hard last night.

We did have a lot of open looks last night, we just missed them.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

This. Only 11 shots for Pierce in a close out game? (one being a desperation chuck three attempt towards the winding down end f the game) Come on now guys. At least he was going to the basket. Take note teammates!!

Rondo was not giving him the ball plain and simple. The offense was not drawn up to have Pierce play hero ball; however, I really think it should have been all about him. Paul looked like he was ready to explode for something great.(its hard while triple teamed)

You could see him begging for the ball in the 4th but to no avail.

I'm surprise Pierce wasn't getting the ball more throughout the ENTIRE game.

He was the only one with a clear offensive game plan.

Attack the rim.

I mean if I see another hesitant jumper or a fake pass to an out-rhythm jumper by our bigs again it will be too soon.

And how many layups did Rondo blow? How many layups did the guy turn down??

Something is up maybe Rondo over slept.
