(1) Chris Bosh - a lateral move talent wise but Bosh is younger
(2) Iguodala and Lou Williams
(3) Sign and trade for Deron Williams
(4) I wonder if there is a way to get Steph Curry. Probably need a three team deal.
(5) Monta Ellis + lottery pick. Maybe try to work Ersan Ilyasova into a sign and trade and make it a future protected draft pick instead of this year's lotto pick.
(6) Gallo + two role players trade package

1.  The move doesn't relieve payroll which means no from LA's standpoint...

2.  Why would Philly do this?  The answer?  They wouldn't..

3.  Why from NJ or Brooklyn's standpoint?  Plus for Deron it's either Brooklyn or Dallas IMO

4. Why would GS do this?  They just traded Ellis so they made their choice to keep Curry...

5.  You're way over valuing Gasol here.  Doubt they would trade Ellis straight up, plus the Bucks owner isn't going to take on Pau's salary...

6.  See #5.  Toronto wouldn't trade you Gallo straight up for Pau right now...

How about Gasol to Atlanta for Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, and Jeff Teague?

Would Atlanta do it? Would the Lakers? Does it make the teams better?

No. No. Absolutely Yes. No.

I would love to have Gasol on this team with KG, Rondo, and Pierce. Sadly there is just no way that happens. LA wouldn't allow him to be sent to us.

I do agree that his numbers would be better in Atlanta because he would be more of a focal point and have more opportunity. That front line would give teams in the East issues.

Just not sure that is enough of what LA is looking for to move him. I hope he stays out west though.

Pau to Memphis for Randolph and a Sign and Trade for Mayo?

Would LA and Memphis agree to this?

LA = Yes.  Memphis = No.

Scola and Martin + filler for Gasol?

Scola and Lowry for Gasol?

Would La do this? I think Houston would do both...

No.  Yes, this sounds a lot like the Chris Paul trade, except LA doesn't get Chris Paul.

1) Thought about that one too. Can't see why it would be worth it for Miami. But maybe...
2) Would love for that to be all LA got in return
3) La tried and was turned down. I think NJ would rather have cap space and rebuild.
4) Steph Curry and David Lee could be a very nice haul for LA. Maybe Dorell Wright too.
5) Don't think this is a good deal for LA. Can't see how Monta and Kobe play together.
6) Gallo and Javale McGhee would probably be enough. Mghee and Bynum are a bad fit though.

What is a realistic trade you think a team would make for Pau Gasol and would the Lakers do it?

The better question is what team needs Pau Gasol, and will the Lakers deal with them?

Dallas makes perfect sense to me, but they are going for Howard eventually.

Pau would make this Philly team we are playing right now scary.  What would LA want from them?  Iggy???

Chicago?  Deng and Asik?  I don't know.

There aren't a lot of good matches out there.  Pau is 32 with an expensive contract and coming off a poor playoffs, and he is going to be coming off the Olympics this year.  There aren't a ton of teams that can take on that liability for a 1-2 chance at a championship.

Barganani, Calderon, and Toronto's lottery pick (John Henson) for Gasol?

Then Toronto signs Nash.

Would La do it? Would Toronto if it meant they got Nash to go along with Gasol, that pick they have stashed overseas and Derozan?

Maybe Toronto can't contend but they can blend some veterans in with their youth and sell some tickets. Gasol and a fat contract might be enough to get Nash to end his career in Canada.

Chicago?  Deng and Asik?  I don't know.

Kinda really love this idea, though LA would probably want a 3rd team involved to get a PF out of the deal (Taj Gibson is probably too much to include, and I believe is an RFA)

Gasol and Artest for Boozer and Deng. The money adds up almost perfectly.

Is there a potential deal between LA and Minnesota? Is Gasol a potential fit with Kevin Love?

I remember rumors of Timberwolves wanting to bring Gasol aboard to pair him with Rubio.

Pau Gasol is a great fit alongside Kevin love.

I imagine a package built around Derrick Williams would be all Minny could offer. Probably Williams and their lottery pick this summer. It's a true rebuilding move though rather than retooling and going for a title again next year.

Yeah, I was thinking about that one too. I decided against it because of Boozer's slow footed defense. I think they need a big man with quick feet who can cover ground defensively. I don't think Boozer adds enough at this juncture of his career + specifically on that Lakers team, to be an enticing player for LA.

Personally, I don't think there is that much between Boozer (offensively orientated role player) and Taj Gibson (defender/rebounder) talent wise already ... when you add in fit for that Lakers team, I think Gibson is the superior option (athleticism, defense) + when you add in salaries (say $6mil vs what $14-15mil) and cap management (Lakers luxury tax issues), he is a much superior option for LA.

If LA could manage to get all three guys - Deng, Taj and Asik - that would be a very attractive proposal for them. It would leave Chicago with a nice three player big man rotation with Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer too. Ronnie Brewer taking over SF duties. Hefty price to pay (for Chicag) but it may be worth it (to have that big man rotation).

I don't know if Deng + one of the two (Gibson/Asik) is enough. Asik certainly isn't because it leaves too many minutes available at PF. Gibson? ... not sure. Might be doable. Would certainly upgrade LA's athleticism, defense and rebounding (Deng over Artest). Deng as a third scorer behind Bynum and Kobe. Yeah, I could be talked into that. Maybe if they threw in a smaller asset as well. Offered to take Steve Blake and gave back CJ Watson to further strengthen their PG rotation.

Pau Gasol + Steve Blake for Luol Deng, Taj Gibson and CJ Watson.

Oh and Chicago could trade Asik for a SF then. They'd have Pau, Noah and Boozer. Not much need for Asik. Maybe bring in someone like Trevor Ariza or Wilson Chandler or a Tayshaun Prince.

The trade LA needs is still CP3 or DWILL.

Question is not if GASOL is worth anything , he gives 100% and will till he retires. Maybe he is declining , but his heart is there.

I just don't believe Bynum is a good fit for anybody, he is spoiled thug and I don't trust him.  He plays when he feels like it.

I'd keep Gasol...he is the sure thing, Bynum is a head job and eventually his attitude willreflect in the way he keeps up his body.  Not so hard while he is young.  Will he care about himself at all when he is 30+

Still think the coaching job is the biggest problem to fill in LA... Brown is just high profile enough for that program or players. He is toast.
