I doubt this would happen considering Orlando got rid of SVG.  I would assume since Stan is gone, Dwight will stay and they will try to bring Deron to Orlando and go from there.

They don't have any cap room or assets to get Deron Williams from the Nets.

I might be wrong here, but IMO, centers who cannot shoot, are terrible from the free throw line and really only dunk, rebound and block shots are not worth either the two, Wade or Bosh.

Miami would be insane to make this deal.

Just imagine the pick and roll between James and Howard surrounded by outside shooters.

Not to mention the defensive foundation those two would form.

I would take 2000 Shaq for Wade and Bosh in a heartbeat.

That being said, Shaq was an amazing passer.

Shaq wasn't even a great shot blocker and he was never the defender Dwight was.  Now granted, Shaq had a more diverse offensive game and was just so much bigger than everyone else, but the comparison is an apt one.  That said, I would not trade Bosh and Wade for Dwight, and frankly I don't think Miami would have to.

I would if you can work in a sign and trade for Anderson and get JJ Reddick.

This will never happen for countless reasons
Really?

Give me a list of reasons and I'll show you a injective mapping to the natural numbers.

LOL - I really appreciated this.  Sad to see it get dragged down so miserably.  :(  I was looking forward to maybe even seeing a diagonalization mapping (a la the rationals)!

That's what I was thinking as well.  I've also long thought Jameer would be one of those point guards that would play very well alongside Lebron.  Good defender, good leader, good outside shooter.

Cole/Chalmers, Wade, and Bosh for Nelson, Redick, Anderson, and Howard?  Although they'd need a lot of players (Nelson if he opts out, Anderson, Howard) to agree on this, I think the idea would improve both teams quite a bit.

Alas if I didn't have to work perhaps I could have put that much time into it.

Oh well, I shall bide my time and craft the punchlines for my metric space zingers.

Dwight Howard and LeBron James on the same team? Sounds like disaster. Also, Miami trading the star who got them that title? That's a betrayal to say the least.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

I've been saying for a while now....

Why doesn't Wade for Dwight, straight-up, work for both teams?

It'd be one of the biggest trades of all time.  It's not likely, I get that.  It's predicated on Dwight's back injury getting better (yes, a dicey proposition).  It requires Dwight to accept being the #2 guy on a team.

Miami would lose one of the best players in the game, but would get back someone who's even more valuable when healthy.  No more concerns about the frontcourt.  Bosh/Howard would be an epically strong frontcourt.  Bosh can keep playing the midrange, while Dwight plays down low.  No more duplication of skills with LeBron and Wade; it's LeBron's show.

For Orlando, while they might want cap space, what they need even more desperately is to stay relevant and be able to sell tickets.  They aren't in a particularly strong market, they can't really futz around with a full rebuild and a half-full arena.  They still have a HUGE amount of salary commitments (Otis Smith really made some dumb, dumb deals), and I don't get the sense that they can go through a couple years of half-full arena while they rebuild.

Bring in Wade, you're selling tickets.

What better return could they possible get for trading Dwight Howard?  Nobody they could get from Brooklyn is going to cause season ticket sales to go up.  A guy like Andrew Bynum - the same.  Good player to have, not someone you necessarily pay up to go see.  You need stars.

I don't know why the trade doesn't work that simply.  Maybe send over Jameer Nelson so Miami has a (slightly) better point guard, or maybe get Miami to take on Baby Davis in exchange for Haslem (Baby Davis would probably help out Miami quite a bit).
