They look great, steamrolling through the west, all their role-players and rookies are playing very well, they havent had to overcome any adversity at all these playoffs. They have had 7 straight blowouts. Ridiculous.

I think the Celtics matchup well with them though, the only advantage the Spurs have over us is their BENCH.

So basically, if their bench lays an egg, and ours somehow preforms, we can beat them in the Finals.

Even still, I think if we make it there, it will be a tough 7 game series. I like having the best 3 players on the floor though.

The playoffs are always about matchups and seeding is overrated. I think we can beat SA. Would rather play them then LAL or OKC. That being said we have to get out of the east first and Indiana matches up with us well. We all know what Miami is when healthy but I don;t think they can beat us without him at 100%.

mmm

I am doubtful.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Totally agree. I was about to make a post saying this
KG is playing better than Duncan at this point of their careers.  The only thing is that Rondo has to keep Parker out of the paint. He usually gambles, so maybe Avery Bradley can take advantage of that defensive asignment

Spurs' rebounding is as inept as the Celtics IMO. And the Celtics defense is way better than any team they would face in the playoffs

OKC looks better. We dont match up with OKC at all. Would much rather face the Spurs than OKC, or even the Lakers for that matter.

What are the Celtics biggest fears?

Dominant big men.

Superstars that can penetrate and get foul calls at will all game long and completely beat the Celtics by themselves.

Spurs dont have any of those. We match up well. Rondo and Bradley should be able to shut down Parker and make him an outside shooter. Duncan usually plays outside of the paint, and they dont really have 7 footers who dominate the boards and score in the paint at will.

I think it would be an evenly matched series.

The Spurs have a middle of the pack defense and a weak interior defense. They concede too many quality shot attempts to their opponents. They can't shut anyone down.

The Celtics defense still functions at a very high level and their offense will out-perform it's norms against the Spurs middle of the pack defense.

The Spurs depth and strength in numbers will cause problems though.

Also, I think the Celtics are the #1 3 point defending team in the league, and the Spurs love 3 pointers.

The Spurs are unreal right now... they're on like a 17 game winning streak and im pretty sure are 28-2 in their last 30 games. That teams on their way to the finals easy... if we get there, we do match up well, and we hopefully wouldn't play down to them since they're the better team.

The celtics could learn a thing or two from the spurs... thats the way they should be playing for 48 mins a night

Spurs dont have any attitude, and no personality, which is why some people call them boring.

But their style works, they give their best every single night, thats their system.

Every single one of their players can play, their DNP players can probably come in if needed and give them a double double on any given night.

Its just a different culture there, a winning culture. The Celtics just have a ton of attitude to them, you dont know which team is going to show up.

Ironically, the Spurs remind be of the Suns. Potent offense, average defense. And they are primed and ready to get beaten by a defensive minded team

They had some massive run like that the last time round in 1999 too, didn't they?

It could be kind of funny if San Antonio managed to win both times in these lockout shortened seasons. A strange coincidence or some Popovich vodoo/magic?

I 'd just settle for getting past the 76er's for right now  and worry about that way down the road.

We do match up well until u get to bench....
Our bench in the playoffs have been horrendous so far.
Spurs bench on the other hand is everything one can wish for.

With a decent bench, Hawks and Sixers series would be so much easier.
Rondo needs to play 48 minutes, cause the offence is not working without him.
KG and Pierce our to old to play 40+ minutes and we don't have a reasonable subs for them.

good D from our bench is just not enough.
