I have a problem with it....In all seriousness, he has not been well since game 2 of the Atlanta series, banged up, needs rest knowing there is a very important game the next day and instead of resting his body and mind what does he do?, He plays Poker and gambles. Sure what he does at his spare time is his problem, but doing this simply gives me the impression that the guy is just not seriously taking the Sixers seriously.

Don't castigate me for just showing my opinion in this matter, after all, everyone has already said their piece and its ok or fine for them to have their captain of the ship play poker 20 hrs before a very important match with Philly, well im just also stating mine that it would have served him better to rest his mind as well as his body rather than waste away your time on a silly poker game...ofcourse if its his way of relaxing then so be it, but he has been struggling in these playoff games as it is and if he puts up another stinker in gm 3, should we blame it because he decided to play poker till whatever time he decided to finish?...I bet they won't finish till 11pm because I have played lots of times in the past and this sort of thing does not end easily in 2 hrs, the reality is, he should be taking this Sixers seriously and he should note that fans are already taking no comfort that his play right now downright STINKS and what does he do....maybe I need to unwind and have a game of POKER tonight before a game tomorrow... hmmmm!   ???

Yep - about two yrs ago, and right before his big game vs MIA where he hit the buzzer beater.

Personally, he's staying off of his knee...not dancing or anything. I see no problem with it.

Just REPEAT your performance from TWO YEARS ago, though ;D.

I few hours of clearing his head from the loss may be the best thing for him.

And 9:30 PM is mid-afternoon in NBA player time.

If this is how he relaxes, and he's not out boozing until 3am, more power to him.  I have zero problem with this.
Exactly. If this is how he blows off steam, so be it. So long as he gets his rest and doesn't get stabbed.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Don't be stalkers.. If he has to relax, it's better for all of us.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

I just got a text from a friend of mine who is a professional gambler that he's currently playing poker with Paul Pierce (9:00 EST on 5/15).

What are your thoughts on this?

He can do whatever he wants, so long as he plays better tonight.

I can just imagine Pierce getting his swag back after playing poker for a few hours.

What is playing poker, other than resting his body and mind?  It's not like he's doing calisthenics; it's a leisure activity.

To me, this story concerns me about as much as if I was told Pierce was in his hotel room watching movies.  The level of physical activity is about the same.

Except sitting around a poker table is much less comfortable then sitting on a couch or bed in a hotel room, especially for someone with a bad knee.  Being out at a place with a lot of drunks, probably isn't the safest thing for someone with a knee injury.  And playing poker, especially if there is real money at stake, is not a reEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.l activity.  It is actually quite stressful and though provoking if you do it right (and Pierce does it right).  Sure if he is with his buddies playing with a $20 buy in, not a big deal, but playing at a casino implies real money, with strangers, etc. so it isn't all that reEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.l.

because of the 3,4,5,6 letters. I guess there aren't many words that use that particular combination.
