time and again, our switches have been so active, but mostly its off for whatever reason..but that call on garnett was a complete hogwash..it's just sad that we are on the receiving end of such a terrible call at a very critical time, really with igoudala's might and strength, garnett can easily sway him on the side? i know what that was, it's the infamous flop on the loose..that was one worth reviewing by stern and his cohorts to really eradicate this "disease" amongst the players in this league..a no call at best should have been the case there, the referee took upon his hands the result of the game, not by the players on the court..

It was unfortunate that they chose to call it on such a crucial possession, but it was a foul. KG is notorious for moving/illegal screens, they could call it a lot more if they wanted to.

It was a foul. It's just a foul they don't normally call and shouldn't.

It was a foul, hated that they called it but if they didn't and that was our team I'd be more upset.  Overall I think this was a well called game, a few out of bounds misses

NBA where referees determine game outcomes....

Cheap call for the final seconds.   They let it go all game and then call it when it matters.  Good refs are consistent.  That call was not consistent.

But I think the fault is on us as well for playing "cute".  The game should have never been this close.  Sometimes I think our guys like the drama.  Close out hard, the 76ers played hard.   We did not always last night and therein lies the problem.

exactly.  KG commits fouls all the time that aren't called.  He is the #2 most dirty player in the league for a reason.

We can Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and moan about consistency all we want, but at the end of the day that was a clear foul, committed with an official 2 feet away, when everyone was clearly watching.  It was a foul and it should have been called and frankly should have been called the 3 or 4 times KG committed earlier in the game.  We should be thankful they didn't call it everytime they could have and just move on.

basically we can magnify this but overall we played a terrible game, the "could've been" had the call was not made situation that would bug us..we were in a position to put more pressure on them which was cut short by a doubtful whistle..its true the game was pouring with missed calls and let-go instances, but definitely it shouldn't have come at a very critical juncture when the game was to be decided..

So were the five times we got hacked going to the basket in the second half.

I dont know how you can make that call in a 3 point game with 10 seconds left... Amazing.

That was about as blatant an illegal screen as I have seen.  Its tough to make that call at that point in the game, but we always give refs a hard time for not calling things the same throughout a game.  When a guy nearly falls over from his own momentum leaning into a screen, it is an obvious foul, plain and simple.

Of course 90% of the screens KG sets are illegal, so it is a risk they take.  But anyone who thinks that wasn't a foul is looking through green glasses IMO.

It was a foul. It's just a foul they don't normally call and shouldn't.

If that was Rondo getting caught on that illegal screen, and Holliday hit the game winning shot coming off it, I have a feeling you would feel differently about whether it is a call they shouldn't make.

props to this..how all of a sudden celtblog posters have been basketball moralists, not saying you defend the alleged foul, but act as if you are a fan who goes by your team whatever happens..it was not a dirty play at all like some portray in this thread..like in any sport, you put yourself and your team to an advantage,on that situation, to create space for PP, which was done well i would say but seen differently by the official, call it breaks of the game, but it was a negligible call, igoudala sold it with a flop, which i see as more devious..

If that's a foul than both starting lineups should have fouled out in the first quarter.

Usually refs blow the whistle non-stop and then swallow their whistles in the last 2 minutes.

This time they let everything go the entire game and then make that call.

In any game, but ESPECIALLY last nights games since they didn't call anything all night, they should only be making that call if its a blatant trip, elbow etc. Not KG leaning into Igloudala which he has.

That's the same kind of pick that players do constantly at the end of games and they never call it.

I just love how the "un-bias" fans can so vehemently say that it was a good call and then conveniently leave out the 50 other no-calls that happened throughout the game.

I agree.  Let's be honest here.  That was a bad screen by Garnett.  If the refs had let it go without a whistle, Sixer fans would have had every reason to be outraged.

I love how everyone agrees that it was a foul.  Basically, we are just mad at the zebras for making the correct call against us in a crucial moment.

This isn't the game for ref bashing.  Save that for a game where it will be more justified.  It'll surely come, particularly if we manage to escape to the conference finals.

It's a ticky tack foul... You can call ticky tack fouls during the regular season, but during the playoffs if you call it consistently, half of teams would be fouled out. Now, granted that they were calling ticky tack fouls during the game (which I had pointed out to my brother so many times before the last play) but at the same time, there were times that players got hacked from both sides and they didnt call anything.

Anyway, you don't make that call during the last play of the game. You just dont. Referees are not supposed to be talked about in the end of the day. It's like calling a holding during the last play of football, calling a player out during a questionable play... it just sucks.

However, the game shouldn't have ended in that play. We should've put them away way before that so I can't blame it on that play, but again, refs making the call kind of sucks.
Baby Jesus!
