NBAdraft.net had a featured interview with this kid, which led me to looking into him as a prospect for the Cs.

He really looks promising and seems to have a ton of potential for a late first early second round pick. He was considered a top 10 recruit coming into college and averaged 18pts 8rb as a soph this season.

He obviously needs to gain a good 20lbs to play effectively in the NBA. He is listed at draftexpress to weight 161lbs i believe these measurements where before his freshman year. I would now suspect that he weighs around 175-180lbs. Other then his lack of bulk he has great measurables at the SG position standing 6'6" in shoes with a 6'9.5 wingspan (very similar to jamal crawford).

He is a very good rebounding guard. This is especially telling considering his lack of bulk. He had some huge games this past season including 28pts and 16rb to lead Memphis to a win against then #4 Louisville.

I made a post on him in the Chad Ford thread a few days ago.

Very intriguing player and one of my favorite candidates for one of our first round picks.

Has a Corey Brewer physical/athletic profile, but a much more appealing offensive game.  Has very good touch 15 feet and in and a diverse assortment of shots - floaters, pull-ups, scoops, push shots. Nice footwork too - I can see him doing a lot of damage in a Rip Hamilton type role.  Solid passer too.

The times I saw him play, Memphis was playing a full-court press against some overwhelmed college guards, so I'm not sure how much can be taken away for NBA purposes, but Barton's length and athleticism are certainly effective in traps.  A lot of deflections.  He's a blur in transition too.
