I see long time mediocre playoff team/just missed the playoffs written all over that team.

Bass, the best low post threat on the team?  Not good.

JaVale McGee, Brandon Bass, Jeff Green and if we draft a Royce White he can play the 4 as well..

McGee, athletic defender who does not know how to play the game.

Bass, jump shooter who needs a big man that draws next to him.

Green, terrible PF.  He is a SF that does a little of everything but is not a scorer.

Unknown rookie who may or may not be drafted by the Celtics.

Cs resign KG,Ray for 2 years. Steimsma and J Green for 3 years. Pietrus, Sean Williams and Dooling for 1 year.

PG Rondo
SG Avery
SF Pierce
PF Green
C  KG
6th Ray
7th Pietrus
8th Steimsma
9th JJJ
10th Dooling
11th Moore
12th Williams
13th Rookie
14th Rookie
15th Rookie

This is the team I expect to see next year. The 1st major change that could come would be if Ray elects to retire/leave for a starting spot.

I expect Bass to be gone in order to open up minutes for J Green and JJJ while also keeping his long term contract off the books.

My best case scenario (which ive stated many times) would be to trade up for J Sullinger/T Zeller and then that player starts at the 4 against bigger teams with Green starting against smaller teams.

They were only giving Green a one year contract when they thought he was healthy, they are not going to go three years after what happened.

My 2012-2013 Celtics

Bradley, Johnson, Stiesmsa, Green, Caron Butler, Ryan Gomes, Eric Bledsoe, Devin Harris, Gordon Hayward, Spencer Hawes, Hamed Haddadi, Kris Humphries, Doron Lamb, Royce White, Robert Sacre

Projected Rotation

PG - Harris, Bledsoe
SG - Hayward, Bradley, Lamb
SF - Butler, Green, White, Gomes
PF - Humphries, Green, Johnson
C - Hawes, Haddadi, Stiesmsa, Sacre

Trade -
Rondo for Harris, Hayward
Pierce for Butler, Bledsoe, Gomes

Draft (nbadraft.net) - Lamb, White, Sacre

Free Agents -
Green 1 year, 7 million
Humphries 1 year, 10 million
Hawes 4 year, 35 million
Haddadi 1 year, 3 million

Still leaves the team with cap space in 2013 to add a top tier free agent and a mid tier free agent and a higher draft pick then just bringing back the old men and keeping the core in tact.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

How many picks do we get out of the Rondo trade? Two + Harris and Hayward? No picks, no trade ...

Okay this is an update..

Starting 5 for 2012-2013

1- Rajon Rondo
2- Avery Bradley
3- Paul Pierce
4- Al Jefferson
5- Kevin Garnett

6- Jeff Green
7- Ray Allen
8- Keyon Dooling
9- Mickael Pietrus
10- E'Twaun Moore
11- JaJaun Johnson
12- Greg Stiemsma

Garnett will not be over $8M in my opinion.. I think he'll be on the cheap side of a 1 year deal. The same with Ray Allen. I think both are draft picks will be traded for Al Jefferson. Bring him back! He'll improve our inside game SO much and the rebounding. Garnett primarily being a center as well. Played so much better there when he was moved. Although I suggest we take a center with the 2nd round pick.

Oh now everyone wants Javale. Before the trade deadline I think it was me and one other poster campaigning for him. Everyone said he wasn't worth the risk and was too much of a bonehead to be worth anything.

Anyway, I like that team but if KG doesn't retire, he needs to be kept here by almost any means necessary.

I don't think I ever saw any threads about McGee, but if I had, I would've been on your side. He's been a very productive player the last 2 years, but because he played on a crappy team nobody noticed.

He's been overlooked the same way that Humphries and Ilaysova have been overlooked (two other players I wouldn't mind on the C's)

edit: although I should add now that he's been on a playoff team, his price probably just shot through the roof.

And now I'm going to go on a rant about how that's the problem with Ainge and 99% of fans on here. Oh, you want Javala McGee? How fortunate for us that you figured out that he was good AT THE SAME TIME AS THE REST OF THE WORLD. The fact is, if you were looking at the right stats you would've known how good he was for the last 2 years. We could've gotten him for a bargain then. But now the whole point is moot since he blew up in the playoffs, and we'd actually have to pay full market value to get him now.
