This is not me dismissing the amazing game that KG had for us tonight, but this is me acknowledging that Hollins helped win this series for us, and definitely helped win tonight's game for us in a major, major way.

He had major possessions where he grabbed offensive boards for us, where he tapped the ball back out to give us another possession. You could clearly see that he bothered the Hawks bigtime when he was out on the floor. It's not just his height, it's the fact that he has bulk on him, and he's so [dang] aggressive. Stiemsa is a much better shot blocker and is better at altering shots that originate primarily within the paint.

However, Hollins is a much better on ball defender for a big man, does little annoying things that slow up a possession so horribly for the other team. He's better at altering shots that originate outside of the paint. I see it constantly from him. The guy might also be one of the few people on this team that actually blocks out properly.

When we were struggling to score for a stretch there, what saved us was the fact that they weren't scoring very much in the early part of the quarter, either, and rewatch this game if you don't believe me when I say that Hollins was a huge part of that.

his defense in that same stretch allowed Horford to go on a scoring spree.

I'd feel much better if he only saw the court in a C's blowout or better yet, was sitting out in favor of Sean Williams.

Helping win the game by rebounding the ball at the end...Playing solid D...Being the best C on the team after joining just a few weeks ago.

He played pretty good defense the last two games, and without his rebound tonight we're playing a game seven.

I'd say he's worthy of a shout out.

Well he got 2 rebounds in 18 minutes. That is pathetic. He is 7'0". I'm not going to give him credit for getting 1 rebound.

And Steimsma, KG, and even Sean Williams are much better centers than him.

The only thing Hollins has going for him is that he is athletic. The problem is being athletic doesn't make up for having 0 skill what so ever.

He got lit up by Al Horford. I don't know what game you were watching.

Right, because if i don't agree with you I clearly am an idiot and didn't watch. It's your world, we just all struggle to have our own thoughts in it.

Look, No one said he was some sort of superstar, he's our tenth man off the bench. But he played pretty good D tonight and whether you like it or not, he made a key play with that rebound.

That's all people are saying here, That he had a couple nice plays. sorry it upset you so much.

Horford made 6 shots in 46 minutes, 18 of those were presumably covered by Hollins. He could have done himself a bit better by not blowing a couple of dunks by learning to up fake, but it took Perk like 7 years to learn that, and everyone knows he was dubbed the New Bill Russell on this blog. Let the kid shine for a couple minutes. He played some big minutes in crunch time and didn't totally crap his pants. That's gotta say something about a guy who couldn't even crack Cleveland's line up this year.

TP for the stats, I guess he did play pretty good D "in the game i was watching"

unless 2 baskets is "getting killed" now days.

Anti Hollins posters...

F the box scores. Hollins will never impress you.

WATCH. THE. GAMES.

He hustles. His effort is high. He gives the team some energy. He's not a option you want for very many minutes, but I thought all in all he helped us this series. Enough complaining about the stats. He's not in there for stats

Where did I say you were an idiot?

I'm saying he was terrible one or two good plays don't make up for all that terribleness. Saying he was pretty good defensively is pretty misleading.

The two games he played big minutes this series Al Horford went for 15/9/4 ad 19/11/3/3/3

Doc was clearly playing Hollins to match Horford's athleticism. Well, he matched his athleticism....but got burned by his lack of skills.
