“We don’t get any calls, which I know everybody always hears. But I’ll give you a stat. Last night, we are playing this old physical team. They are old. I know what happens when you play basketball, old guys foul. [Kevin] Garnett is the dirtiest guy in the league. We are playing Boston last night and they had two fouls the whole first half. We had five times that and we’re athletic.”

Haha.  Somebody tell this idiot that our "old" team is simply better than their "athletic" one.  I'd take KG over any player on the Hawks roster, including Horford.

Yeah I was def cracking up with the "and we're athletic" comment. So if you are athletic you are better at defense and don't commit as many fouls.

I guess he does say he "knows what happens when you play basketball" so he must know his stuff

He is.  This isn't news.

I'm being sincere when i ask this.. Do you root for this team? Again im not trying to sound condescending im really actually curious to know. I don't think ive seen you make a positive post yet. If i'm wrong to ask my apologies ahead of time. I don't read all your posts obviously. But when i do you seem to have a negative stance almost every time i've seen. Sticking to your gut is admirable especially around these parts, but i sometimes question your motivations. Are you contrarian because honestly that's how you feel? Or is it to keep the discussion moving/baiting slightly? Just curious.

That's weird. I was thinking that maybe there was a guy named Ron that could be considered dirtier. I guess elbows to the face are not dirty.

KG's playing hard is NOT dirty.  I 've been following KG since he came into the league .  He is an amazing person.  Aggressive yes , talking smack yup (non stop), getting you flustered yes, pay back elbows yes ... wanting to injure another player in a game ending/year ending way....  Absoluetly "NOT"  thats horse rubbish.

He has never done anything like blantant s cloths line a guy aka. Bynum or coldcock a innocent dude like Metta Thug.

Garnett is one of the most "CRAFTY and SLY" players in the league.  He knows & learned all the tricks to get an advantage.. and frankly its fun to watch . If it aggrevates you, tuff...go watch cricket.

He prepares for his games and KNOWs his opponents weakness's and he'll pick without remorse on those opponents weak of mind and heart on the NBA court. He is all about winning.

That owner is full of it,  he just wishes ANY of his big guys were half the man KG is on the NBA court.

This is just the kind of Cheap Shot message KG needs to hear to go off on Atlanta and open a LARGE CAN on them.

It is up to the refs to decide who is dirty, though KG is quite savvy at getting cheap shot elbows in and doing some seriously illegal picking/grabbing. Trash talk is irrelevant, though some people might let that color their feelings.

Also, Ron Artest is still in the league, just under a different name.

All I care about is if there are players that really try to hurt other players, like people trying to body slam Lebron or Griffin, or people who take swipes at the head knowing they can't hit the ball. KG may be dirty and is pretty low on the list for on the court class, but I don't see him doing things that can cause permanent damage. He doesn't kick feet from behind like Bruce Bowen. Not every needs to be Ray Allen.

He will throw the elbows around. He also does the vet savvy things like hold guys so they can't make a play, but it is up to the refs to call this stuff.

You make the important point that he doesn't try to injure guys.

Apparently this fool hasn't heard that a few of the Celtics are playing hurt as well. Boo hoo. Horford, Smith and Zaza shouldn't be playing. Tell that to Paul Pierce's knee, to Ray Allen's ankle, to Avery Bradley's shoulder, to Greg Stiemsma's foot, to KG's hip, to Rajon Rondo's back and to Mickael Pietrus' hamstring.

Great point

I just finished watching a game which contained Reggie Evans.  I think only RonRon Peace can challenge that goon for the title.

Also, KG's had a very clean season . . . so far.  Hopefully, he can keep the slate more or less unblemished.

Don't most good-to-great players get away with the "dirty" stuff he accuses KG of on defense pretty regularly? Actual dirty players try to hurt guys with reckless play...those include Bynum, Artest/MWP, and Dwayne Wade. KG is not in that category at all.

Yada, yada, yada ... how many times have we heard opponent owners/coaches take this same tack when they need an excuse to rationalize getting out-toughed?

KG is not a dirty player, he's a physical player, and no more so than most of the better players in the frontcourt. Pretty thin excuse-making, and most who know the game can see that.

Grow up, get real, move on, and emulate it ... it's how the game is played, and should be played. And as I said before, all this from the owner of a team with Zaza Pachulia?!?

Come on.

I think Mr. Gearon might have been knocking back a few too many Martinis at that luncheon.

If KG is the dirtiest player in the league, then the refs are failing to do their job by clearly not calling enough fouls.  We cannot allow this besmirchment of our referees to go unpunished.

Fine this carping miscreant, Mr. Stern, for the good of the league.
