Is this guy serious? Can someone explain to me why the Red Sox have yet to discipline this meathead for all his transgressions so far?

I still care about the Sox because I'm a baseball fan and they're my team, but I sure wish they could just flush a bunch their players down the toilet and move on.  Unfortunately it's not going to be so easy to detach themselves from the contracts they're latched onto.

Beckett doesn't "get it" and doesn't give a crap.

I still watch the games. It's unclear to me how playing golf affects a lat injury. I mean that sincerely. I really don't know.

At this point there's been so much negativity from the press surrounding Beckett that it makes it hard to distinguish an actual serious offense from just another reporter fashionably piling on. All of this muckraking from the sports media has grown tiresome, I think.

I mean that I honestly don't know if that's reckless and irresponsible behavior from someone with a supposed lat injury. I'm skeptical at this point regarding stories surrounding Beckett because ripping on him has become so common, and I never was certain that all the 'Chicken and Beer' and disregard for the Sox training staff was all that offensive. For all his warts, he was the best pitcher on the team last year.

I respect your enthusiasm to defend him. I just wish he would reciprocate that enthusiasm to just go out and play. Even if he's "sore". Your a loyal fan. I just think you and Red Sox Nation as a whole deserves some answers from this guy. Or better yet.. PRODUCTION.

Honestly i respect your loyalty. I just think the excuses this guy comes up with are running thin. His lack of accountability to put it bluntly is insulting as a fan.

red sox need to blow it up foreal. Bring in guys from AAA to pitch or whoever. They just need to purge this team of all the low character lazy dudes and start from the ground up. I would keep most of the position players and Lester and Dubront. Everyone else should be on the trade block.

The fall of the Bo Sox since that big wild card lead last year is pretty sad.  Worst professional sports team in Boston that matters?

To me the lack of responses speaks volumes to the problems at Fenway. This team is toeing the line of alienating one of the best fan bases (other than the Celtics of course) in the country. Pretty sad to see this really. Bottom line is no one really cares anymore. I hope that hits the Sox in the wallet eventually. Then maybe they'll wake up and realize they need to hold guys like this accountable. He's a poster boy for everything wrong in all major league sports and just makes this team look really really pathetic.
