Didn't see the game, was the refereeing really that slanted towards us? Biggest examples?

In any case, take that Hawks! :D

Celtics were allowed to be physical, and benefited from quite a few 50-50 calls. I can't think of examples at the moment because my brain is overloaded with green celebration.

Awesome work fellas! Far from perfect but way to hang in there! The typically awful late-game offense was there for a bit but they righted the ship with a 7-2 run to close the game--awesome! Big props to KG!

Just wondering, Why doesn't Mikael Pietrus play more?

Because to play him, you have to sit pierce, ray or Bradley.

Although if you mean just why wasen't he playing over daniels on that final possession...I have no idea.

Have to give Hollins some credit though. Even tbough I never want to see him have the ball below the rim, he gave us some defense that none of the other guys could give.

I'm an honest basketball fan, and I'll say this. That inbound call on the first inbound pass attempt, when Daniels grabbed Horford's jersey should have been 2 free throws automatically for the Hawks.

We got a very dirty call, and I have to admit that we did, because if it turned out the other way, I would definitely be complaining about it, but I would've also thought we didn't the courtesy considering we were suppose to have the game all locked up in the final minutes, and we made the game unnecessarily difficult for ourselves.

I also thought there were some plays where the Hawks were clearly fouled, but didn't get to the foul line, but in fairness to that piece of honesty, Hollins was mugged on 2 inside plays, and nothing was called. People better give Hollins his props now, because I think he quietly saved this game for us about as much as KG did. He had big offensive rebounds, he had big tap backs to keep the ball alive. He played solid defense to make it very difficult for the Hawks players out there. If Hollins is not out on the floor late in this game, the Hawks when we were struggling to score the ball, actually get some points, and it's likely enough to steal tonight's win.

KG tonight man, what a pro. What a [dang] pro.

No. That foul on the in bounds play should have been a foul on Horford or a no call.

Daniels wrapped Horford up as soon as Horford started moving towards the hoop.

Wrapped up? Are you talking about the second foul? On the first one Horford had Daniels hooked and then Daniels had his arms on him after.

None of this relative if Ray makes his foul shots.

There definitely should have been two shots on the first foul

but look if we're gonna sit here and talk about stuff like this after we just won, then take a look at those two possessions that screwed us in game 1 and got Rondo suspended.  We might not have even been playing this game.

The NBA is shady but it balances out

Pietrus had made several defensive mistakes on scheme earlier in the game (left Joe to over help twice and in transition)

I think Doc trust Marquis in that situation to make the right play more often in a dead ball situation like that.

Yes, unbelievable that I'm nervous about Ray Allen, of all people, at the foul line. This is like the twilight zone or something.

Even so, he at least has an excuse. He has missed so much time. The Celtics have no excuse for nearly throwing this game away like they did, but I'll take the win. Also, the Celtics now still have a healthy dose of the scare that almost was in this game. Had they lost this game, and the Hawks won a game they had absolutely no business at all winning, the Celtics would have been so defeated mentally that I just don't know if they would have stood a chance back in Atlanta in game 7.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
Gotta say, Marvin Williams was really gracious and professional in his postgame presser.

I was impressed with that. He's got to be gutted, but he played pretty well these last two games. Not superstar level, but quality playoff performances.

TP

definitely the star of the series for the C's IMO... solid every game and the unquestioned force on defense, as usual.
