I don't get how fans of the Celtics still complain about our rebounding after losses. This team does not win and lose because of rebounding so why even bring it up? I understand once in a while if we get absolutely destroyed on the boards or if we are giving little effort but shouldn't every one just accept the fact that we are a terrible rebounding team.
Rebounding is probably the last thing we should be looking at on this team
When you lose games that you should have won, and are already fairly consistent and productive with your offense, (and the other things you do well), then you look at the things you do
poorly, and try to improve them.
That's just Hoops 101, and good common sense. Rebounding is one of the
first things we should be addressing, because we are giving our opponents
way too many second and third chances to score on their possessions.
So while we do not win or lose on our rebounding
alone, it is a huge part of what's wrong when we
do lose, and it needs improving.
Striving for excellence in basketball means having a complete and
balanced team, turning what's a detriment into a strength, and refining what's not into something even
better.
