  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Like him. Range-y big, good rebounder and solid post defender. Not sure how much he will ask, but I won't pay no more than 7 mil a year for him.

2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Seriously... Are we going to jump on THIS bandwagon too? Every time a player has a good game, someone wants him in green.. Cut it out..

To be fair, Hawes has been a target all year, and was much more impressive when he was healthy to start the year than he is right now.

Maybe, but there are better big men out there for us to keep an eye on.

I would take Hawes over any of the other young free agent centers this summer.

I think Hibbert is peaking, and is soft and getting softer (while Hawes is getting better, and getting tougher).  So, when you pay for Hibbert, you are going to overpay for future production, when his production will actually decrease.  Hawes will continue to get better, if he can stay healthy.

Hawes is a better all around player than Lopez (although I do like Lopez), and Lopez is restricted.

McGee is an idiot, who may never learn how to be a consistently good NBA player.

Hawes is on the upswing.  He is just starting to grow into his body, and he has the size, athleticism, and skills to be a top 5 center.

edit: with all that said.  I don't really want the C's to go after any of them.  They are all more likely or not going to be overpaid, and not going to be good enough to get their teams over the hump.  I would rather save the money for a real star, or use it in trades.

I like Hawes, but I really don't see the all-out potential there Hibbert's size and defense make him slightly better in my eyes and there is really no comparison with Brook Lopez. I get that we have no chance for Lopez, but if he were available, he would be a near max player. That guy is exactly the type of player any team would like to have.
