My guess is that this is just opportunistic marketing, rather than something that was pre-planned. It certainly didn't take them long, though.

Kinda disturbing actually......I kinda feel like the deification of athletes for money became ok during the Lebron chosen 1 church commercials, but at least that sorta had social commentary in terms of the importance culturally for the black community.

Paul Pierce has always been kinda a clown and I love it. Like his preseason buzzer beater against the Knicks and just jogging around the court celebrating.

I think it's all in good fun always with a smile on his face.

Agreed.  I think it's kind of stupid though.  I don't see it doing too well.  It was game two of the first round, if this were the NBA finals game 7 and Pierce did it I think it would have been huge.  Hopefully it doesn't happen, but if the Celtics lose this series, Adidas is going to have a lot of those shirts laying around.
do it

Why? its actually a nice shirt and will be a nice shirt whether they dont win another game in the playoffs or win the championship, and that game will be a memorable one either way...my guess is all celtics shirts will sell better the longer theyre in the hunt

I saw it as a calculated yet subtle taunt on the other team using Tebow's trademark move.

It was vintage Pierce, and when you have a game like that, why not?

10 hours for a graphics designer, then like 24 hours to produce like thousands upon thousands of the shirts.

So no.

Thanks for the link. I like the t-shirt and getting it for memorabilia when PP is done.

I see this side of it but I think a lot of it was just in the moment of being so overjoyed with the comeback and the performance. I think half was clowning around and half was legit taking a second to take it in

I actually really like the shirt, might buy it.

Paul Pierce has always had an understanding of the History and the Lore of the Boston Celtics.
He understands the banners, the classic showdowns and the epic confrontations that have gone on previously.

This shirt is hot!  And Pierce is the Truth!
I'll get him to sign mine!
