Apparently he killed himself in his California home.  Fantastic player, RIP Junior.

I wonder if they find something when they do the autopsy.  Playing LB in the NFL for 20 YEARS has got to take a toll on the brain.

I heard the gunshot wound was to the chest. I'll be interested to see if he requested his brain be studied like so many others. Either way very very sad news. My thoughts & prayers are with his family. R.I.P. JR.

Not sure how unexpected though after that incident a couple years ago pretty much driving off a cliff right?

In my opinion: Undiagnosed concussions.

Sports Illustrated ran a terrific piece about the sad lives of 'hockey enforcers,' and how so many of them commit suicide at a young age. Suggesting that the blows to the head lead to terrifying levels of depression.

His drive off a cliff after getting arrested a couple years back seems less accidental now.  Might've been a first attempt.
